Apple Magic Trackpad MC380Z/A
Really ease to use after a little practise also not so much strain on shoulder as can be placed in front of you and used with both hands.

Apple Magic Trackpad
Much more comfortable than a mouse to use.
Also has many more gestures than the magic mouse
Also more economical with batteries than the mouse

Pleased as Punch!
I've been a Windows man for more years than I care to remember, but very recently purchased the 27" Mac desktop with Mavericks OS.
It came with the WiFi keyboard and Magic Mouse. All well and good, except that the mouse is rather small for my mighty hands to manoeuvre properly. Hence I purchased the Trackpad on Friday evening last.
Lo and behold, it was delivered by lunch-time to day (Monday).
Two reviews then - one for John Lewis delivering so speedily and two - the trackpad is superb. It sits very well with the keyboard and responds superbly.
It also appears to be very well built and robust, plus John Lewis supply a 2 year guarantee for the product.
Very happy bunny then!

More useful than a mouse, nearly everytime
I received this with my late 2012 iMac.
I was a bit dubious of moving from a mouse to a trackpad but I needn't have been.
From the numerous gestures it has, its far more useful than a mouse, don't get me wrong, the mouse in certain applications that require fine control would probably be better suited to a mouse. And that's the reason I still use a mouse for fine work like photo editing and video editing.
When surfing for example I can swipe left or right with two fingers to go back and forward pages, three finger swipe up show Mission Control. A two fingered left swipe from the right edge shows Notification Centre. There are numerous other gestures, some of which are on the back of the trackpad's packaging, but others can be easily found by doing a internet search.
The iMac is my first Mac (I've been a Windows user for 10 years) and with the iMac, trackpad, Mac OS, the move has been an absolute pleasure.
I would recommend the trackpad over the mouse everytime, but I would still recommend having a mouse spare though, so that if you run into an application that requires fine control (such as photo editing or video editing) a mouse in this scenario might be better than the trackpad.
The trackpad's whole surface is a button so this allows for a lot of different functions. The trackpad takes 2 AA batteries (which come supplied) but I purchased the Apple Battery charger to use when the supplied non rechargeable batteries eventually run out.
The trackpad is typical Apple, i.e. beautifully designed, well made, and a joy to use.
I highly recommend it!

OK but did I need it?
I had read reports that the track pad was much better to use than the smart mouse that comes as part of the iMac I had ordered. Also being a happy MacBook user I had grown to love its trackpad so I added it to my order.
I do use it often, especially in the evening as I have it set up for light touch and so does not make noise when clicked, important to me as I have iMac in living room and often use it when family watching TV.
But the Smart Mouse is also very good to use, and better when doing photo editing, so in hind sight I would have been better saving the money.

Apple Magic Trackpad
I used click and collect to get the mouse the next day and process worked perfectly, I have even got back my 1 hour parking fee.
The mouse itself is great to use and enables me perform quick and easy actions on multiple documents and spreadsheets. Really useful for surfing the web and swiping back and forward between pages.
I do still use a traditional mouse as actions between two monitors are easier with a traditional mouse.
I highly recommend this mouse to people who want to combine the functionality of a mouse and trackpad!
