Product information

Asus' Transformer Book T100TA combines an ultra portable laptop with a 10.1-inch tablet to help you take computing on the go, with the keyboard ready for when you need it. The 2-in-1 ultraportable design is complemented by a 11 hour battery life and powerful mobile processing from Intel.

Quad-core processing
The Transformer Book T100TA is powered by Intel's Bay Trail Atom processor. Designed for mobile computing, the Bay Trail range of processors deliver fast processing power combined with long battery life, so you can finally have an affordable Windows experience on the go without having to charge every couple of hours.

Elegant design
The tablet section of the Transformer Book T100TA slots into the keyboard dock and locks in with a simple slide mechanic to hold it to secure. With tablet and dock together, the Transformer Book T100TA measures just 13.1mm thick, ensuring that it'll slip discreetly into a bag or sleeve when travelling.

Windows 8.1 & Microsoft Office
The Transformer Book T100TA comes complete with the latest version of Windows: Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 introduces a number of features to make your computer easier to use, including the return of the Start Button seen in older version of Windows. This convertible also features the full Microsoft Office 2013 Home & Student package. Office Home & Student gives you the tools you need for homework, letter writing and managing household tasks. It includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

Great visuals, fantastic sound
The multi-touch IPS display will help you navigate your convertible, whether in tablet or laptop mode, with Windows 8.1 having designed with touch in mind. The bright HD screen is great for watching movies on, and with a new reading mode, you can reduce eye strain when enjoying eBooks, text heavy webpages and documents. Asus' SonicMaster technology perfectly complements the screen for movies, delivering lifelike audio.

Q & As

Asus Transformer Book T100TA Convertible Tablet Laptop, Intel Atom, 2GB RAM, 32GB, Windows 8.1 & Microsoft Office 2013, 10.1" Touch Screen 3.6 5 37 37
Asus Transformer Book T100T Happy overall, light, versatile and purchased because came with Office 2013; a big plus as I use word and powerpoint both for work and study. The 2year JL warranty a great bonus too. An issue, it goes into sleep mode after 50 seconds inactivity - after 1 minute need to enter password to continue. Frustrating and impossible to use for a presentation or listening to music - but found other owners have had similar issues the problem being the mother board. 13 October 2014
Versatile Agile Easy to Love and Lug ! Took a few weeks to get into it, especially Windows 8.1 but eventually penny dropped and now love this! T100's best in tablet mode IMO, feels agile for normal WIndows/browser, and videos. I'm not a gamer so can't comment there. But feels quick in Windows. Battery life is great. Screen is great, if a bit small, but very clear and bright. Touchscreen great. Desktop mode needs the keyboard/pad which works fine but we've ended up mostly using it detached in Tablet mode, though keyboard's easy and there if needed. It's light in Tablet mode, not so light with keyboard attached. Travelling with it has been fine, seems robust. 32GB a bit skinny maybe, so added 32GB SD card and that is fine and pretty quick too. Clincher is Office included. But love it anyways ! 02 October 2014
A good Little Notebook I have just started my degree and needed something that I could easily carry around to do my work on. this notebook is really good, the battery life is amazing, and I've had no issues with it and i've had it a couple of months now. windows 8 is really easy to use. The only comment I would make is that the memory is not the best, so if you've got lots of photos or music and are looking to store all of it on here you will need to purchase a micro sim card to give you the room. Although the battery is great and last for ages, it does also take ages to charge up. I left mine all night and it was only on 94% in the morning. apart from that, it a good little Notebook 18 September 2014
ASUS Transformer Sorry but I found this product very poor , two faults within two days Will return to John Lewis,, 12 September 2014
Was good but now faulty Good little device if you can stand windows 8, which may be worth it for office 2013. Has started to play up after 7 months of use - it now does not recognise the keyboard when connected unless folded quite close together. This means it is now tricky to use for typing but still works fine as a tablet. 14 August 2014
Reasons to choose the T100TA This is where the smart money goes. If you are looking for a full Windows tablet with detachable keyboard as standard then read on. I'd been keeping tabs on the Surface Pro for some while but couldn't square the thought of carrying around such an expensive piece of kit on a daily basis and also having to fork out for the type pad. There was very little alternative until the T100TA arrived. The technical specs should be more than you need so the key decision should be Windows 8.1 rather than RT, MS Office preloaded, the 10.1" form which is easily held/read/carried (wouldn't go smaller) and all day use without charging so no need to plug yourself into the grid unlike your colleagues with their laptops. I use in conjunction with a Lumia 925 which can act as a Wifi hot spot when out on site and camera (one thing you don't get). No negatives yet but I've just ordered the 64GB micro SDXC card to boost storage to sit alongside OneDrive and a small USB drive I had lying around. Top tips for using 8.1, swipe from the right to reveal 'settings' and 'power' to 'shut down'. Also when the keyboard is attached you cant swipe up to reveal the apps so simply press the tab key then the arrow that appears. In desktop mode you have direct access to the manual which is worth reading to get the best out of 8.1 which is in its element on a touch screen. Surprisingly great piece of tech and money well spent. Nearly forgot - great on long flights and even managed a Powerpoint presentation the other day. 06 August 2014
Disappointing I had this exactly one month before it developed problems refusing to load photos and allow access to my emails.. Took it back to John Lewis's technical guy at Bluewater who couldn't have been more helpful. Turns out I am just one of a significant number who have returned this product over the last couple of weeks. Looking on line it would seem that this is a common problem so will be swapping it for another brand. Shame...I really liked it. 29 July 2014
Great Little Product But..... Only had it a day but it seems a great product, easily transportable and flexible. I am used to Windows 8 (although not a fan of it) so it was easy to get going. There are plenty of ports to allow expansion of memory and easy transfer of files. The machine has so far handled all I have asked of it. What has really irritated me is the abundance of marketing software on the machine which pops up giving the impression of free this and that only to bombard my email account with endless messages about upgrading. Getting rid of it all proved to be a challenge. Another reviewer mentioned this but John Lewis mistakenly thought he was writing about spyware - which this isn't. In my view ASUS should not support such blatant marketing ploys by software companies. We are adults who can find our own software and applications to do jobs without endlessly being intruded upon. John Lewis service through Click and Collect was as usual, brilliant. 28 July 2014
