The family company that is Avoca today, started as a manufacturer back in 1723. Some Avoca products are still hand woven at the original mill in the picturesque village of Avoca, County Wicklow. Avoca is an Irish family-run business that spans one of the world's oldest surviving manufacturing companies and Ireland's most exciting stores. They export clothing ranges to boutiques around the world and have their own food label as well as Avoca perfumes, glassware, and ceramics.
The company stems from a modest handweaving mill that was established in a rural Irish village over 280 years ago. What unifies their approach is to try to avoid the average or ordinary. Instead, they look for colour and life and happiness, and seek out the unusual and beautiful. Their mission is to create joy and have fun.
They claim to keep their offer unique by designing and innovating in-house and nurturing relationships with like-minded partners, like organic farmers, and independent suppliers.
