Bowers & Wilkins P3 On-Ear Headphones, Black, Black

Product information

Bowers & Wilkins’s P3 headphones combine pristine audio performance with maximum comfort. These slimline headphones fit lightly and snugly on your head, and fold up to stow away in your pocket or their own hard-shell carry case. They even produce a remarkably natural, detailed sound on the move, thanks to some major acoustic innovations that reduce distortion to a minimum.

  • P3’s drive units have been designed from the ground up to give the best possible sound from a small set of headphones. Repositioned terminals make sure that airflow around the drive units is consistent for more direct sound.
  • Unique foldable design makes these headphones easy to store, pack and transport.
  • P3’s cable comes with a remote/microphone attachment, so it works seamlessly with your iPhone. And because the cable is so easy to detach and swap, P3 is also compatible with all other mobile phones and MP3 players.
  • Bespoke fabric covering the earpads provide acoustic transparency in the centre, while forming a perfect seal around the edge for better bass and noise isolation. The pads are made from heat-sensitive memory foam that moulds to the shape of your ears, becoming more comfortable and enhancing sound quality over time.

Please note:

The remote and mic are supported only by iPod nano (4th generation and later), iPod classic (12GB, 160GB), iPod touch (2nd generation and later), iPhone 3GS and later, iPad and iPad 2. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation or later).

Audio is supported by all iPod models. Includes universal cable for audio only use with computers, phones and music players with a standard headphone output.

Q & As

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Earphones Excellent sound quality, comfortable to wear, good value for money. Would recommend. 03 March 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Try Before You Buy A very well made product that has a serious quality feel to it. The sound is very neutral and so these are no good if you like a lot of bass. You need to spend a bit more to get a true hi fi sound - the B&W P5s have a much better sound but are not as portable and cost more. I would also compare with an equivalent or more expensive Sennheiser model. I don't find these very comfortable for long periods - about 90 mins is as much as I can wear them for. they fold up very neatly but the case is rather large and defeats the point. 26 November 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beware the wind! Look great and the build quality in general is good (the cable from the ear piecies to the jack is a bit light weight in that it twists and tangles very easily). Sound is good if your not into basey beats but the single most annoying thing about these headphones is that when worn in windy conditions the wind whistles as it blows past the twisted metal bars that attach the headband to the earphones. This drives me quietly nuts as I go about my business on windy days. But did I mention that they look great....... 15 September 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best headphones I have ever owned I will start by breaking the headphone review into categories that I believe headphones are comprised of. 1. Style 2. comfort 3. build 4. sound 5. price. This will be a long review but in my opinion these are worth it. So number 1 the style, I have to say the p3's are some of or possibly the best looking headphones on the market today. They ooze premium quality and you don't see them every where you look. Comfort. These I will admit were not the most comfortable headphones out of the box, but after wearing them for about a week they have become very comfortable headphones. They don't clamp your ears to your head causing discomfort, they seem to sit comfortably without any pain after prolonged use. Number 3 build. Well they are simply amazing with one minor issue. The one issue I have is the wire connection to the 3.5mm jack, it seems a little weak, I don't think it will an issue but I thought that I would mention it. Now the good points the wire input in to the headphone itself is brilliant, this is due to the connection being inside the headphone pad. This makes the connection very secure. The swooping metal connection between the headphone and band looks amazing as well as being very functional. The materials finish is 1st rate and I have not a bad word to say on how they feel. 4. Sound, I will start by saying that like with all speakers and headphones I allow time to allow the speakers to run in. So the sound is simply a masterclass in balance between the bass, mid and highs and well they are amazing which I expected nothing less from B&W. The bass is not overpowering but its there when its needed. The middle range sounds are clear and not clouded by the rest of the range and as Ive mentioned they just blend and balance everything superbly. Finally to the price, yes they are expensive but if you love music, wont some beautifully crafted headphones then I suggest these. They are not perfect but they are very close. 27 January 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good looks and sound, needs better quality control Sound is very very good and clear, though you can barely hear the bass. Looks stylish and nice fit. Very Disappointed that within 2 months one of the ear pads fell off and couldn't get it back on again and the cable split at the jack end exposing the wires. I wouldn't advise stowing them in your pocket as advertised , but If you're only going to use these headphones at home sitting in one spot they're great, otherwise for the price, they're far too delicate, don't see how you take them on a plane and walking about etc. not really fit for that purpose.Took them back and got Bose Oe2i instead. 15 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bowers & Wilkins Best head phones i've ever used, very comfortable and first class sound. 12 January 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hugely Disappointing Headphones – Try Before You Buy I felt compelled to write a review of these headphones so that buyers could get a different viewpoint before spending a lot of money; particularly as they seem to be getting rave reviews in the Audio press. I purchased the headphones on line and collected them from my local store. Having listened to them at home I would have to say I was hugely disappointed in the sound quality. Yes they are very well made and attractive to wear, but for the price they cost you also want them to sound pretty special. These in my opinion do not! I found them to be remarkably muffled sounding and unbalanced. Obviously you can enhance the treble setting on your iPod device to compensate a little, but I do not expect to have to do this when listening through so called premium headphones. The other major concern I had was with the fit. They do not grip your head. Obviously I did not intend to exercise in them but even when walking around the house they had a tendency to shift on my head. Leaning forward or making other moves caused them to constantly shift, feel unstable or fall off. In the end I returned them to the store and would give full marks to the John Lewis Customer Service team who operated a “no quibble” refund. 05 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb - Worth every penny I recently turned 22 and I had birthday money to blow. i spend most of my time working at a desk, listening to music all day. As this was the case i wanted to listen to the music as it was suppose too (not through useless apple headphones). Having read a lot of professional reviews of there sound quality, and being an owner of Bowers & Wilkins speakers. I decided to blow my money on these. Nothing comes close to quality of these at this price range. It oozes quality as soon as you take the lid off. Once you own a pair of these you will not want to take them off. 30 October 2012
