Bowers & Wilkins P7 Over Ear Headphones with Mic/Remote

Product information

With P7, everything is designed to allow you to lose yourself in music. Bass is tight, vocals are precisely defined, and there’s a wonderful sense of space, balance and clarity across the whole frequency range. At the same time, the over-ear design and snugly-fitting ear pads ensure you become completely immersed in your listening. Because when you’re hearing sound this good, you don’t want anything to interrupt your enjoyment.

    Hi-Fi sound
With P7, the drivers work more like the drive unit in a hi-fi speaker, with a diaphragm focussed purely on the job it’s supposed to do: generate sound. Which means a drive unit with a more precise, controlled movement.

    Superior fit
The ear pads feature a dual cavity cushion design that helps the pads mould to the contours of your head. This design maintains a consistent volume of air between the drive unit and the surface of the ear at both sides of the head.

    Leather, aluminium and steel
Moving parts and back plates are constructed from brushed and stainless steel. The logo plates are crafted from brushed aluminium. The headband and ear pads are encased in luxuriously soft leather, making them a delight to wear even for long listening sessions.

    Foldable design
Thanks to an ingenious new folding mechanism using a highly durable stainless steel hinge, P7 folds up like a pair of sunglasses, and comes with a soft-cover carry case perfect for messenger bags or briefcases.

    Phone friendly
The cable comes with a remote/microphone attachment, so it works seamlessly with your iPhone. And because the cable is so easy to detach and swap, P7 is also compatible with all other mobile phones and MP3 players.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Re-creates the Concert Hall My P7s arrived a week ago, and at last I have been able to listen to a favourite Symphony (Shostakovich’s 5th) in its entirety’. The headphones live up to my expectations and provide me with a listening experience as good as that from my serious (30kg each) stereo floor speakers. Shostakovich’s symphonies reward listening to the detail of orchestration in depth, and the P7s reproduce every aspect with utter clarity, whether it be ranks of brass or the delicate notes of the Celesta. The balance and ‘openness’ of the P7’s re-create a concert hall experience that is so satisfying. For those with a different taste, the P7s re-create the excitement of Adele’s music just as well. 18 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent set of headphones As with many people, I've gone through a range of headphones, mostly in-ears of late (Sennheiser IE8s, Shure 535s). I purchased these as a replacement for my in-ears and very excellent Shure 535s and have been blown away by the quality of the product (it feels like an expensive premium product) and of course the sound. I'm hearing things through these headphones that I previously hadn't heard and I can't recommend them highly enough. I'm not sure what they are like with lower res audio but for reference I'm listening using Tidal on a Sony Z3 smartphone. 04 February 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the premium I picked up a pair of these beauties a couple of weeks ago and having used them a number of times since, I felt compelled to express how good they are for any other folks considering the 'are they worth the price?' question. The answer is yes - I had the P5's previously which I thought were good, but the P7's easily trump them. Great feel, fit and above all else far superior sound quality that is not leaked as with the P5's. Far, far superior to the other brand at this price point having tried all alternatives a number of times. I also suggest use with a mini amp as your typical smart phone/MP3 player does not do these headphones justice - without it, you are not utilizing their full capability. An investment that you will not regret! 13 January 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Private Bliss. I purchased a set of B&W P7's as a birthday present to myself and I am very glad that I did. The headphones are beautifully made and look, and feel, a class act. Not only that, they sound wonderful - just the right amount of warmth to the sound coupled with a brightness and clarity which can transport you to a fine level of "private bliss". An indulgence - but there are those times when it is worth it to put on headphones of this quality and simply slip away - and this is one of them!! If I had to make a comment then I find the cable a little on the short side and also the volume control is too close to the headphone for easy use other than that they are the sort of quality one would expect from an British Company at this price. 01 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Sound I previously had the P5s, which in themselves are excellent headphones. The P7s lift the phonics to a whole different level. Such clarity and precision, nuances Ive never heard before in well listened to tracks. More comfortable than the P5s to wear - build quality is premie 05 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by WoooooooooH Just bought B&W P7 headphones from John Lewis' store at Trafford Park. Read the reviews that were all excellent but after travelling 65 miles to buy the headphones, on seeing them, I must admit I had a slight concern that they looked a tad bulky. However, after some deliberation and little persuading by my partner I decided to buy them. Now, on reflection, this has to be one of the best decisions I have made for some time. As a lover of music the P7 headphones have taken the listening of music, for me, to another level. They are, without exaggeration, truly fantastic. They look expensive and the sound quality is truly amazing. Therefore, if you are considering buying headphones in the very near future, in my opinion, you will definitely find no better. They are superb. 06 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bowers and Wilkins P7's Excellent sound quality the balance is perfect. Build quality superb, leather and anodised aluminium. Previously owned the P5's and these are a big step up in performance and far more comfortable when worn for prolonged periods. 15 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb headphones I'd seen various (glowing) reviews for these headphones - and I can now understand why. The sound from them is excellent - they do perhaps stray slightly towards accentuating the bass, but it makes for an engaging and lively presentation (and nowhere near as exaggerated as the more fashion oriented brands). The build quality is also superb and they feel very comfortable on. Once removed, they fold into a very nice carry pouch too, which reduces their size a bit for carrying around. The only thing I've struggled with is the cable remote, which can be quite tricky to use by feel as it doesn't give a lot of tactile feedback (and sits very close to the headphones). If you are looking to block out the rest of the world, be aware that they don't isolate you from external noise as much as some (which can be both a plus and a minus). They don't leak sound though, so those around you won't be bothered by your musical choice. They are not the cheapest headphones, but I feel that they are worth every penny. 25 March 2014
