B&W Panorama 2 5.1 Sound Bar

Product information

Packing 5.1 sound into a single, discreet frame, the Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 2 is a sound bar that doesn’t compromise. Its clean, minimalistic lines hide leading-edge audio technology that’s low profile enough to blend with any space. Advanced centre/surround speakers are also backed by a dedicated subwoofer to deliver sound that you’ll feel as well as hear.

Along with boosting your movies, games and TV programmes, the B&W Panorama 2 will boost your connectivity with extra HDMI ports and a 3.5mm input for music. Easier to setup than traditional surround sound systems and just as powerful, the Panorama 2 adds a whole new dimension to your media.

Key benefits:

  • Panorama 2's drive units are designed to disperse sound to as wide a listening area as possible. This large audio ‘sweet spot’ means the whole family can immerse themselves in pristine sound. Movies and music on Panorama 2 now sound better than you ever thought that they could. All from a single, discreet loudspeaker system.
  • This sound bar features completely new, specially designed tweeters, midrange and low frequency drive units. This leads to a dramatically improved acoustic performance, with better bass and enhanced integration.
  • Strength and rigidity is key to avoiding the kind of audio distortion you get with your TVs built-in speakers. You only want to hear sound from the drivers, not a rattle from the cabinet. Panorama 2 is designed with an unbroken, curving outer shell that eliminates vibration.
  • Panorama 2 features the latest HDMI connectivity (three inputs and one output) to allow the quickest, easiest, and highest-quality to the widest range of televisions, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes and games consoles.
  • A proximity-sensitive display fades to black when not in use. Wave your hand over the display and you can instantly control the onboard menus directly
  • Optical cable included.

Q & As

B&W Panorama 2 5.1 Sound Bar 5 5 1 1
B&W Panorama 2 5.1 Sound Bar A quick review for anyone looking at sound bars. I purchased the fantastic Sony W9 with a free Sony sound bar last year. The sound bar was OK. The optical only connection was a pain as it meant a separate remote for sound. I then got a Monitor Audio ASB-2 which sounded gorgeous but was faulty and had an interface (flashing lights) out of the 1980's. That went back and I spent a morning with a friend listening to bars including the Sonos and Yamaha. The Panorama (OK, it costs more) put them all to shame. I want it as much for music. Demo of a record deck through it was outstanding. I have an Airport express plugged in, delivering iTunes into the audio socket. The Sky HD box and Sony BR are HDMI into the Panorama with the HDMI (Audio Return) going to the TV. Surround sound as good as you can expect from a bar. Movies are brilliant with sound pumped up. TV with Dolby can also sound excellent. The Sky and Sony remotes control the bar's volume. Hope that helps someone decide. 22 March 2014
