Q & As

BabyBjörn Potty Chair, Grey 3.5 5 2 2
Perfect for girls once a couple of months old We bought this potty because we are practising elimination communication and were holding baby over a large glass bowl to do her business; she was getting a bit too big to hold comfortably, especially for long number twos! It looked like it would help support her because of the high back and I liked the idea of the easy to clean insert. Initially it wasn't entirely comfortable for her because it was a bit wide so we had to keep holding her so she didn't get wedged in the insert. But gradually the back really came into its own as once she was more secure in holding her head up you could help her balance with just one hand while you fished around for toilet roll which you'd invariably forgotten to prepare in advance. Now at 4 months she can sit comfortably with no support although I still hold her legs bent towards her to help keep her in a squatting position. And the splash guard is really effective, although now she wants to 'dismount to standing' instead of be carried off it is a little in the way - but it's been invaluable! The rubber on the base is effective and the insert has a flat bottom which is useful once you've cleaned it and want to temporarily rest it on the side while you wash your hands. All in all it's a very well thought out piece of kit in a sophisticated (what? a baby item that's sophisticated?! It can't be!) grey/white combination, so much so we're buying another in the same colourway. 22 June 2013
Beware of falling forwards Very easy for little babies to fall forwards. Not sure if this potty is very high or my baby is very keen on leaning, but I had to be quick or she would have eaten floor big style. 17 May 2013
