BaByliss New Big Hair 2885U Styler
Asked for this for my birthday from my partner as I thought it would revolutionise my hair-drying process and speed it up.
On my first attempt with it I read the instructions fully and watched a video online and went on my way. My hair is thick and medium-long so I gave it a quick dry with a hairdryer first as instructed and then split it into sections. Whenever I went to use the rotating function my hair would become tangled in the contraption. I tried splitting my hair into tiny sections and still the same thing would happen. After about 50 minutes of battling with it my hair was dry and looked OK, but nothing special, and was certainly not worth the pain.
I asked my partner to return it but he said he couldn't because it was now used and we know what John Lewis can be like.
After two weeks of it sitting in the bedroom I finally gave in and tried it again. Once again I read the instructions fully, and once again my hair repeatedly became tangled and caused me great pain. I ended up giving up and using a hairdryer and straighteners instead to achieve a better look.
Now it sits in the corner irritating me because I know it wasn't cheap and it is utterly useless. It is not only a huge waste of time compared to other methods, but it is absolutely dangerous. At best, without using the rotating function, it left my hair static, and at its worst it nearly made me cut my hair off it.
Do not buy.

Getting used to bouncy hair
I have purchased this hair styler as a replacement for a well-known brand.
I wasn't expecting great things from this styler nor great build quality, so the only way to decide if it was any good, was to try it. I have been trying it for four weeks now, twice a week...
It is a great styler. The results from the first use were pretty good and the more confident I grew, the better my hair looked.
It was quite difficult to start off as I didn't know how to make the brush rotate. Yes, I had to read the instruction booklet. The plastic buttons making the brush spin are non-descript and look like a part of a handle.
Once I knew which way to spin my hair and which button to press it was easy to achieve almost professional results.
The brush is quite large and I don't think it would work on short hair. The bristles are pleasant and gripping well.
If you wish to straighten your hair, I would advise to keep the hair taught while spinning the brush; otherwise it may get terribly tangled.
I found the first warm setting sufficient enough to dry and style my hair in just minutes. My hair became smooth, frizz free and bouncier. The results lasted till the next wash.
The high price could be a deterrent for some, but the results totally justify it.
I am happy with the purchase, the quality and the ease of use.

I originally bought this as I was working away from home a lot and needed an easy to pack hair styler.
My hair is wavy - sort of soft lose half curls, and I like to wear it like that so I didn't want anything too that would be too harsh on my hair or make it too straight.
I use it after I wash my hair and my hair is about 90 % dry. If you use it on hair that´s too wet, it will take forever to dry it with this tool.
I´d recommed following the tutorials from Babyliss to get to grips with how it works.
After I use it my hair looks groomed & polished. I get volume at the crown, smooth shiny lengths and flicked ends. This styler has really changed my hairstyling and the way my hair looks.
I also use styling products with this brush as I get better results in volume and hold. I tested the tool first without any styling product in my hair and the volume was decent but by prepping my hair with volumizing products I get fantastic volume.
If I want my hair to look a little less groomed and want to have more like a "bed head" look, I just do my hair with this and then break up the hair with a texture styling product like a surf spray or Bumble and Bumble Texture Cream or Dryspun Finish Spray.
Or I twist my hair in 4 buns after doing my hair, let it sit for a while and then use some surf spray to create heatless beachy waves.
The hair even looks good on the second day and it gives me a good base for updos and braids as it is shiny and voluminous.
It take some practice, so don´t expect it to be perfect when you use it for the first time.
I highly recommend this for women like me who hate blowdrying and styling but want to have groomed and polished hair.

if you want a really effective hair dryer/smoother this is it! You need to persevere to get the knack but highly recommended.

I have found this very useful as I have an injured shoulder and it really makes drying my hair so much easier.

Ok but not as good as expected for frizzy hair
I was convinced to buy one of these by friends who all raved about it. They claimed it blow dried like their hairdresser - so I was sold. But I have frizzy hair and although it helps, I still need to use the hair dryer and straighteners to smooth the hair. However I will keep it, as it is easy to use and helps dry my hair quickly. But it definitely does not achieve the same quality as my hairdresser.

HAIR TO GO IN MINUTES!
I have fairly thin hair that requires high maintenance in order to look good, so I have to wash it almost every day. Like many working women getting ready for work is a nightmarish time consuming job, but this product just really helps. Pick up the Babyliss, take sections of towel dried hair press the medium hot button, and the brush slowly turns the hair whilst blowing warm air through the big brush to smooth and give your hair volume. If you are in a 'big' hurry you can use the hot button, but be careful as the brush moves much more quickly, I assume so that you don't damage your hair. The finished look just takes a few minutes (well it does with my thin hair, it will take a little longer with thicker hair) you end up with a head of hair that is much fuller, shiny and styled. Even if you are someone who says you are no good with hair you will be able to transform yourself. My last brush gave up the ghost and I panicked as I didn't know how I was going to cope without it.

Highly recommended. Am going to purchase another so I have a spare! Could not live without this now.
Best hair dryer I have ever used.
