Top Tips on Setting the Table

  1. For the perfect basis, start with a decorative tablecloth or runner and practical placemats and coasters
  2. Layer plates and bowls, with the first course at the top, followed by each successive course underneath
  3. Lay starter cutlery on the outside of the place setting, working inwards towards the knife and fork for the main dish
  4. Fill the water glass up beforehand and station small and large wine glass on the table if you're offering a choice of red or white
  5. A striking, low-rise centre-piece, will encourage rather than hinder, conversation among your guests
