Belkin Smart TV Link
Setting up Procedure
The single most important thing to do during set-up is to make sure that the computer you use in the set up procedure is NOT connected in any way to the internet. You must have the router swithed on, but disconnect the computer itself from the internet by disconnecting any ethernet connection or disabling any wifi input.
Then connect the Belkin unit to the computer using the supplied ethernet cable and usb cable. Then open your browser on the computer (yes, with no internet connection to the computer !! ). The Belkin set-up page will now appear on the computer screen (not sure but I think the set up page is coming from the Bekin unit itself , not from the internet, and any internet connection only confuses the communication between the Belkin unit and the computer ). On the screen it will list the wifi signals being picked up by the Belkin unit so select the one which you are going to use to supply wifi to the TV. Then enter the router key/password and you will then get a succesful set up message.
Disconnect the Belikin unit and attach it to your TV with the ethernet cable and usb calble.. Your TV will now access the internet ok.

Really easy to use, and works a treat
All of the previous reviews seem to be using a different device to the one I used.
It's incredibly easy to set up and took me two minutes. You connect the box with the enclosed ethernet and usb cables into a laptop or computer, making sure that wifi on the machine is switched off.
The next time you open your browser, it will use the ethernet connection to load the belkin configuration page. From there, the wifi in the belkin will find your router and allow you to configure the wireless connection.
With that done, simply unplug the smart tv link from the computer and plug both the ethernet and usb cables into your TV and set the TV up to use a wired internet connection.
It's simple, and works really well, and best of all, it will work with any smart TV.

As per a previous review, I amTech savvy so persevered but it has gone back to J Lewis. Bought for smart TV which is in bedroom and broadband is downstairs in Lounge. But found out that if speed detection is below 10mb (which it is due to being in another part of house, which is why it was purchased) then this won't work, only found this out after spending an hour knowing that it was all connected correctly but it would still not connect the smart tv to internet. J Lewis service excellent as always and purchased another more expensive but excellent product from J Lewis 10 mins up and running with extra broadband boost to bedroom.

This is a doddle to set up, if you can look at pictures. Use a laptop, dont have it connected to the internet, plug in to laptop, using USB and internet cable supplied, to the wirless device. Type in web address as shown on documents and follow instructions from there- simples... :-)

Although a nice size and pleasing design the lack of set up information provided in the manufacturers pictorial installation guide prevented the use of this equipment. Internet searches show that this is a universal problem which has been ongoing for a long time. No solutions were found.
If you are thinking of buying one I suggest you do an on line search first.
I failed to do this and have wasted 3 whole days trying various ways to install it.
Belkin Customer Service, for Technical queries, is in my experience also very expensive, unhelpful and in America.
Needless to say my Belkin F7D4555 is now being returned.

I consider myself relatively tech-savvy but this is the first piece of hardware that has defeated me. It's going back.
I am all for quick-start guides but when that fails I'd like something else to fall back on, and there is no full manual for this product. Support on the manufacturer's website was inadequate and when I looked elsewhere online for advice all I could find was others who had the same problem and no solution worked. The quick start guide directs you to connect the hardware to your computer and enter a url in the web browser. This url is not accessible and this is a dead end in the installation process.
I'm sure this product works for some but for others, for whom it does not work immediately, there seem to be few options.

Works as I expected
Works as I expected. The only thing a bit strange is a wobbly piece of velcro to fix to the back of the TV , it hasn't fallen off yet so overall really pleased
