Q & As

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by An Excellent Product This product is great for keeping my 4 year old upright whilst she is a sleep in her travel seat. It's a bit fiddly to work out how to fit it the first time you put it in place, but once you know how it becomes child's play! 22 March 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Reservations I was concerned about the risk of my Grandson slumping forward in a car seat secured with a retractable seatbelt when he falls asleep in the car seat. This product seemed to address that need. It is easy to fit and easy to use. However, I am concerned that, as it is fixed to the cars seat belt, it may actually interfere with the action of the seatbelt. For example, there have been occasions where the seat belt has not retracted readily after use. Will this affect the performance of the seatbelt in a crash? It does encourage a more upright position when the child is awake but he can still slump forward when he is asleep. I would still prefer a five point harness rather than using the cars seatbelt at all. 07 January 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good safety product I was looking for something to support my daughter when she fell asleep on long journeys in her full back booster seat! This product is fab for keeping her upright & in her chair but her head still flops about! 10 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant product! This is an absolute must for children who do not 'fit' the new car seat safety legislation. We have a 26 month old grandson who had outgrown at 1.2m high, his 5 point harness on his car seat. The weight limit on the staps is 18kg - anything over this and the straps might fail. Unfortunately, as the law stands, we had to put him into a high back booster seat with a 3 point lap belt. All well and good but, he was prone to undoing the seatbelt or slipping his shoulder out, making him liable to be injured in the event of a collision/emergency stop. Having searched online for a solution, I found Belt Up. What a brilliant idea!! This belt is attached to existing belt and crosses over their chest therefore keeping your child safe in their seat; also it prevents them from falling forward when asleep. Easy to unbuckle AND you know your child is safe. I have one in my car and when I told my daughter she bought 2 for use in both cars in their household. Happy and properly restrained child = happy parents/grandparents. 15 July 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by not universal , not john lewis faullt, manufacturing flaws, very poor fitting instructions, just bought 3 of these, I have a britax high backed booster and a maxi cosi high backed booster, may be ok on a graco however graco highbacked booster is one of the worst and scores poorly on crash test , very poor instructions, metal bit on female section of belt spins, should be fitted with something that cant cause spinning as this can cause incorrect fitting if u don't spin it into correct postion before fitting, causes buckle crunch against both these high backed boosters and although fitted at its lowest point it is still putting pressure on the polysterne bit of the booster, when wrapped behind the britax seat then threaded through the plastic belt feeder it just flys back out as my britax seat is not designed for a belt to be threaded around the back of it in the first instance, when the metal section is then threaded through the top of your belt it interferes with the belts retracting system, once your belt is on kid u then have to feed it into your retractor as it cant do it itself as this new bit of metal is causing it to clog up, so must be done manually every single time, mine is now wrapped behind booster head rest as it wont stay in the red seatbelt guide so head rest may rip off in an accident or cause buckle crunch as the buckle is certainly putting pressure on seat and polysterene as it cant be fitted any other way, not universal for every car and certainly not universal for every highbacked booster, some places do fitting before buying so best to check if it fits your seat and your car before buying, I ordered mine online but may have to return 04 February 2015
