Product information

This ultra-safe Isofix seat is easy to install. The BeSafe iZi Combi is a brand new ‘combination’ seat lets your child sit facing rearwards until 4 years of age, which is recommended as a safe sitting position. In the event of an accident, sitting rearwards helps to spread the impact evenly across the body which reduces strain on the back and neck.

In the rearward position, the seat secures to car's Isofix points and in the forward facing position the car's seat belt is used to secure the car seat.

The BeSafe iZi COMBI seats then allow children to sit forward facing as well, when the time is right. Forward facing, the BeSafe iZi Combi has advanced belt routing, making it very easy to install correctly and securely.

Group 1, 9-18kg in the forward facing position and groups 0+ and 1, 0-18kg, in the rearward facing position. BeSafe recommend that children remain sitting in the rearward facing position for as long as possible, for maximum safety, up to 18kg.

BeSafe recommend this seat is used for children who can sit upright, making it suitable from 6 months. For children under 1 year, or 10 kg, the most reclined seating position should be used, with the body hugger and seat cushion.

BeSafe iZi Combi X3 Isofix Car Seat, Black/Alcantara 4.4 5 8 8
Excellent car seat A very good product, solid and high quality. The seat is relatively easy to fit, and is very secure and solid once installed. The removable washable protective pad which the child sits on is very useful if there is a little accident :-) . The magnetic holders for the shoulder straps is a very clever feature and holds back the straps while you put the chuld in the seat. Dont under estimate how much space this seat takes up, we use our Mk3 renault scenic and it just fits in - if you want to still travel in the seat in front. 08 January 2013
Poor quality belts We bought this seat because after lots of research we believed it would be the safest seat. However, it has major drawbacks and after less than 1 year we're throwing it away. Here are our issues: - Out daughter (now 2 years old) can slip her shoulders out of the belts, no matter how tight they are. This is a serious safety issue. (This isn’t possible with the other seat we use for her.) - The design of the belt mechanism means they often jam. The belt fabric has excessive wear and it is not always easy to faster her in. Worryingly, the belts are not covered by the warranty! - The seat is huge and needs a lot of space. We have a large 7 seater and with the seat in the rear facing position there is very limited front seat legroom; this is an issue (in our car) for anyone over 6 foot as their knees will be touching the dashboard, which would be a major issue in a collision. - If used forward facing, there is no isofix. - The seat is very heavy so it is far too time consuming and bulky to move from car-to-car. 07 January 2013
brilliant seat im a nanny and have had this seat for 8 mths and the only niggle ive found is it doesnt recline as much as i would like although none of the babies and toddlers ive used it for have seemed fussed and have all slept happily in it. all in all a fab seat, easy to install in my renault scenic (and yes the car does have floor storage but the leg doesnt lie on the lid its further forward on the floor so its safe). youngest ive had in the seat was 6 month and oldest was 3years 4 mths (he still had plenty of growing room). all in all a really good seat with the added knowledge of being safer rearfacing for longer. 24 December 2012
GREAT SEAT!! 5 times safer It tooks us few months to decide which seat to decided because it was so much choice out there but when my friend pass me this information, i new i´ll buy this one without thinking if is too much money or not!! who can put a price on your child´life?? BeSafe Rear facing car seats are 5 times safer Back in the 1960s medical traffic researchers in Sweden discovered the advantages of having small children sitffting rear facing in a collision. Consequently there are no forward facing car seats for children under the age of 3 on the Swedish market and this reflects very well on Sweden which has the lowest accident statistics in Europe! Forward facing child car seats - subjecting the neck and head to considerable strain. Small children are not miniature versions of adults. Their heads are disproportionately heavy, their backs and neck vertebra are under-developed and their reflexes and ability to react are poor. If a child is sitting forward facing in a collision its head will be thrown violently forwards, subjecting the neck and head to considerable strain. The child also risks injuries from impact with the front seats or from fragments flying into the part of car where they are sitting. So if you want the bes for your child, go for this car seat , IT´S FAB!!! 14 November 2012
Quality Seat Rather heavy but it looks and feels very safe. Very easy to install and use. It provides a good sitting position which allows my 22 month old to see out of the window. He is comfortable and is happier in this seat than he was in his previous seat. The manufacturer might consider a foot plate (rather than only the bar) which would be useful. I am really happy with the purchase and think it is money well spent. 04 September 2012
5 times safer in a frontal road accident. Bought this following researching stage 1 car seats and the evidence proving that it's much safer for little one to continue facing rearwards for (with this seat) up to 4 years. In Scandinavia it's normal for children to rear face until 4 years. It's us that's behind the times in terms of safety! Like the face that it can be turned forward facing if required. The seat is fairly straight forward to fit, but it's heavy, so wouldn't recommend it for switching between cars to often. There are video guides on youtube to advise how to fit. Feels solidly built and my daughter looks comfortable in it. Reclines, although you will need to adjust the front passenger seat so that it remains in contact with the carseat as this is recommended for added stability. Fits in my Vauxhall Corsa and still space in passenger front seat for me (5ft7) without my knees being in the glove box! Wouldn't be comfortable for my 6ft husband to sit infront of it for a long journey though. Nice and high so baby happy to be looking out the window or rear screen so we have quieter journeys now as she's not bored when awake. There is a gap in between the carseat and the car's back rest for child's legs to drop down in to. Suitable from 6 months as baby needs head control and some sitting balance. If you're looking for highest safety possible rather than most convenient product, this is the one for you. 28 August 2012
Impressive product Extremely solid albeit heavy chil seat. Added advantage of choice of face forward / face rear. Very pleased with purchase. 30 July 2012
Fab car seat We've been using this car seat for 18mths and can't fault it. One of the safest group 1 seats. Little one is now 2.5yrs and happy as ever rear facing. The magnetic strap holders are great, keep the straps out of the way. Really easy to fit, quite heavy so you prob won't want to move it too much. It does state that although there is no lower weight limit it is suitable from approx 6mths or when they can sit as it doesn't recline as much as a first car seat. If you want the best protection for your child get this seat! 28 April 2012
