I bought the whole Noah sweet of furniture 2 years ago.
The chairs and table are great but the benches I have are not. One has spilt the same way as the other reviews and the other is very creaky !!! Out of warranty but an inspector is coming out, clearly a design fault. Here's hoping for a good resolution as the furniture is beautiful but is not cheap and expect it to last longer than 2 years !

Like to couple of other reviews on the site this actually completely collapsed!
The bench has only very rare occasional use when we have guests around, as we otherwise sit on dining chairs and have the table/bench backed up against a wall.
We had 2 guests sitting on the bench when the legs on one side completely snapped and gave way, sending everyone tumbling to the floor. The break occurs where the two legs join the reinforcing beam across the length of the bench - it appears to have snapped on the "leg" side rather than the joint itself, which suggests the wood itself has failed and sheared away from the leg.
We have a three year old and if he was on the bench at the time some serious injuries could have occurred! Will be asking for my money back, and also looking to replace the dining table which despite being okay, we got as a set and will be difficult to find a bench that not only looks okay but will actually fit, as the legs are set a fair distance in from the edge.

We bought the bench to go with the table of the same design but the construction of the legs is very poor.
They are stuck together with glue and the only thing holding them are 2 wooden dowels.
It gradually split, so we had an inspector out who took the legs away to re-stick, but they came apart again gradually and then one night almost gave way completely when we had friends over for dinner.
So have now had to replace it with a different design, not ideal but at least we have a bench that is safe to sit on!
Would not recommend buying this bench.

We decided to incorporate benches into our dining suite as we feel we are more relaxed than formal diners. The benches are very comfortable and we used them for Christmas dinner with great success. Although they were self assembly they went together very easily and feel very solid.

This is a beautiful, solid-feeling bench but it has a serious design fault. We were halfway through our evening meal when it completely collapsed without any warning with me, my wife and six year old son sitting on it. Fortunately nobody was seriously hurt. Each pair of legs is only glued together where they meet, and they don't directly connect to the bench top to hold them together. It looks great but it doesn't work. When the glue fails, the wooden dowels snap and it's game over -- very suddenly and dangerously.

We were after a stylish, contemporary bench for our hallway and this does the job perfectly. Very well constructed, quality materials & worth the money.
