Q & As

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Delicious espresso Having read previous reviews I thought that this Stove Top Coffee Maker would be ideal for me. I use 2 dessert spoons of coffee which, because I prefer "latte style" makes 2 standard cups of coffee with my breakfast. Otherwise it makes two espresso cups or, with added hot water, two standard cups similar to filter coffee but with more flavour. Having not used a stove top coffee maker before I needed to practise to get it just right. It is ideal for a single coffee drinker and I am delighted. 11 February 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great coffee - just not enough! I purchased the 6 cup after reading other reviews about small cups. I had thought though that a 6 cup would probably produce enough for 2 cups - how wrong was I!! The coffee is great tasting, but this 6 cup produces barely enough for an equivalent small cup of standard coffee size. Most annoying :( I wonder how much the 10 cup actually produces? 2 decent size cups? You could hardly offer anyone a pot of coffee with this. Size amounts aside, the coffee it produces is really good, no residue, easy to wash and clean. Would recommend if you only want 1 cup of coffee. 29 December 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by 4 cup is 1 cup Really disappointed to find that the 4 cup is more a 1 cup, be warned as it isn't cheap. 24 December 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor design Makes excellent coffee, I agree there are some irritating flaws as far as where it sends steam and drips. However, my concern was that after a few months the screw attaching the lid to the handle fell out. We screwed it back in, but alas the thread has failed so now the lid is always loose, and regularly falls off. We took it back to John Lewis on Sat in Leicester but they would only give a 20% discount on a new one - ours was now 14 months old (we live 90 mins away). We elected not to throw good money after bad. The first ever time that JL have not refunded. 01 December 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Far too small to be called 6 cup If your cups are thimble-size then go ahead and buy, but if you can get even two regular cups from this then count yourself extremely lucky. After one use mine no sits in my cupboard waiting to become a wedding present to two strangers or people I may nor particularly like. 27 October 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by dangerous Steam comes out from top of the handle where it lifts the lid - at all stages of making the coffee. Serious risk of steam burns to the thumb. Also coffee dribbles down the handle while it is bubbling through. Bad enough that I have taken it back for a refund - which John Lewis gave without question. 30 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish Solution for One or Two Cups Nice design, practical to use, and quick to produce good coffee. Smooth stainless surface is easy to clean inside and out, but take care not spill remaining coffee and or water when taking apart. Not just for induction hobs, but on gas stoves needs a "Gas Ring Reducer for Espresso Coffee Makers & Small Pots" to ensure stability, not a "Diffuser" such as I originally bought with this item. 17 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gold standard stove top Superb stove top mocha pot. Stainless steel - so no concerns about using old skool Aluminium . No drips from spout It will discolour on the base, this is fine. It is not a beauty contest. Makes magnificent espresso. Dont overfill, use, fine ground beans, only rinse dont wash and this will be your friend for life.... 10 September 2014
