Bionaire BAP9240-IUK Air Purifier, Silver
My husband suffers from various kinds of allergies (dust mites, mold etc.). This allergy triggers Allergic Rhinitis which if not sorted within day or two transforms into severe Asthma. This created quite a havoc in our lives till the day this machine arrived.
Now, whenever there is a slight allergy reaction, on goes this machine and within few hours the impact is visible. We have got our lives back all thanks to this.
Hence, cannot recommend this machine enough for a allergy sufferers and amazing value for money.

Like a hotel room
Having purchased the product yesterday and used it overnight, the air seems cleaner and cooler, similar to a hotel room.

It does the job.
I bought this appliance to help with my allergies. Overall I think it is a good product and definitely helps to purify the air. Two down sides are that it is not fitted with a true heap filter and it is also quite noisy on the lowest setting. Some describe it as "background noise" but it is certainly noticeable. I believe you can buy a true heap filter for it and also it might be worth buying a timer so that you can set it to come on a for a few hours before bed.

Best Ever Product !
My grandson (5 yrs old)has been suffering from rhinitis (NHS diaganosed) which led to him having asthma - he tested positive (6) for dust mite /dog /cat /mould & grass inhalant allergy. Since this air purifier has been in his bedroom he no longer 'sniffs' at night and does not get his 'night time' asthma. We have left it running constantly on the number 2 setting and have used the filter supplied with the product. If we switch it off by mistake his night time allergy comes back.
Fab product and great price - thanks Bionaire & John Lewis

Very good product.
I have used this for a few days in my bedroom,
I am in my early 20's and my room does sometimes smell after being to the gym,
I also suffer from hey-fever and asthma so I thought I'd chance this product.
I did some research, and after seeing the Pseudoscience and unrealistic claims people say about Ionizers and air purifiers.
It works for me, I feel like my room feels fresher and it is not a noisy device, I've heard worse.
It does make the air fresher, and I've not had any hey-fever symptoms.
The only issue I have, is that it only comes with a HEPA-type filter, which only catches particles to 2 Microns, Bionaire will sell you a true-HEPA filter that will catch particles to 0.3 Microns.

Very effective to reduce odours and mould!
Bought this due to having to wait 3 months to have damp proofing carried out in my new flat. Prior to buying the purifier I had problems with my sinuses/sneezing caused by mould. Once this little machine had been in action for two days in my bedroom, my sinus problems were all but gone.
I was a little worried about the noise mentioned in other reviews but didn't find it a problem on the lowest setting despite being a light sleeper. It's really 'white noise' as someone else mentions.
Since the damp proofing has been carried out I now use it to eradicate frying smells that seep through the floor from my upstairs neighbour.
Really. happy with this - can't recommend it enough!

Perfect for bedroom
This product is so easy to use and looks very good. The low setting is perfect for the bedroom and produces a gentle hum which is great, and like white noise, cuts out other noises. I do not know why some people say it is too loud.
It will go upright against the wall and does not take up too much room.
Have only just received this but already it appears to be effective at filtering the air. I hope that means less dusting!

I've been using this purifier for a few days, and already the air feels 'lighter', for want of a better word. It's in use in a small home office #around 7sqm# for eight hours a day and was purchased to counter the dust trap that is inevitably created by the fans in a couple of PCs, a laptop, a server, and whatever other gadgets are switched on.
It's doing a great job, and while not silent it is certainly quiet on its lowest setting #no louder than a regular fan on a low setting# and most of the noise it makes is airflow, so is inoffensive. I quite like a bit of background white noise while sleeping, and would happily use it in the bedroom on its low setting.
Air enters the intake on the front and is vented out of the top, but creates surprisingly little draft while gently circulating the air in the room. As another reviewer found, this circulation does have a gentle cooling effect on the air in the room.
The unit consumes 12W, 16W and 33W on its low, medium and high settings respectively, and the ioniser does not add a measurable amount to these figures.
The filter is easily removeable by opening the front grill, which is released with a catch on its bottom edge. On the inside of the grill is a thin sheet of foam which acts as a pre-filter; it is washable, so presumably it's not a carbon filter. I'm sure this could be replaced with a sheet of carbon filter foam that is cut to the correct size.
It's worth noting that the supplied filter is a HEPA-type filter, not a true HEPA filter - thus it will only capture particles as small as 2 microns as opposed to 0.3 microns with a HEPA filter. A true HEPA filter is available to fit the unit, however. The supplied HEPA-type filter is impregnated with carbon, in the form of baking soda.
