The Bosch WAQ28461GB washing machine combines anti-vibration design with an excellent A+++ energy rating to give you an appliance that is both energy efficient and discreet.
With a variety of programmes, this Bosch machine is a VarioPerfect model, and achieves outstanding cleaning results for all types of textiles, and for all load sizes. Practically all programmes can be combined with the ‘EcoPerfect’ option for more energy savings or with ‘SpeedPerfect’ for faster results.
There are gentle options for woollens and silks, and the Reload function lets you add something to the wash if the water level in the drum is not too high - handy if you’ve dropped a sock on the stairs on the way to the machine!
The Bosch WAQ28461GB also features the 3D AquaSpa wash system where a higher water level ensures more efficient wash results. Water enters from three sides for quick and effective water distribution. During the wash, laundry is showered from above through specially designed paddles, ensuring gentle washing and optimum usage of the water in the drum. The innovative ‘wave’ drum design provides delicate care for your laundry.

Disappointing
I researched this machine carefully and wanted a high-quality machine with fast programme times and a good fast spin and I was prepared to pay this kind of price to get that. The one-hour SpeedPerfect 40C programme with 1400 rpm spin looked perfect. So I was really disappointed to find that in fact it leaves the clothes wet. According to the manual this is "not a fault" and is to do with uneven loading. But it does it on almost every load, and when I then do a 13-mnute spin at 1400 without redistributing the load, it's perfectly happy to do it properly. But that means that, instead of the one-hour completed load I expected, it's at least 13 minutes longer than that, and usually a lot more, since I don't sit over the machine waiting for it to finish. Sort this out, Bosch!

acceptable
Washes well, not too noisy but is let down by its spin.
I would expect a 1400 spin speed to get my washing a lot drier than it does. Tumble drying now takes longer than it did with my old machine which was also a Bosch and that only had a 1200 spin. I must admit I am disappointed. However, apart from the spin, it is a good machine.

Disappointing
It's a very clever machine. Easy to use, loads of options, quiet, refined & good-looking
Unfortunately it's just not very good at cleaning clothes. The "standard" mixed load 40 degree wash leaves clothes smelly. We've found that the only way to get a decent wash at 40 degrees is to selct a cotton wash and dial the temperature down from 60 to 40. Great, but it's 2:35 hour cycle
I'm very sceptical indeed about the energy ratings of this machine.
All-in-all it is simply not as good at washing clothes as our 15-year-old Ariston, was and cost about twice as much.

A disappointment
Good reviews and rating by Good Housekeeping Magazone prompted me to choose this machien as a replacement for my AEG Oeko Lavamat that had just broken down after 15 yrs of loyal service. It is a decision I shall live to regret. Compared to my previous machine it is extremely noisy and some of the more advance features are more complex then on my old machine. The cycles seem to be much longer too, albeit they can be manually adjusted. I miss the light inside the drum of my old machine, which was handy when looking for the odd sock! I guess I am spoiled. I had teh Rolls Royce of waching machiens before and this is merely a comfortable Ford Mondeo.

Excellent product
Having researched the "Which" report and many website reviews, including JLP, I selected this washing machine.
I am delighted with my purchase!
The machine fits very well under a worktop; has a large drum and robust door.
The instruction sheet has a "busy" layout with each "page" consisting of one and a half pages of information. This is my only gripe.
So far I have tried a Cottons, Mixed, Easy Care, Wool and Sportswear load. The LED display indicates how much time is remaining on each cycle, which I find very useful.
The washing comes out fresh and clean and there is plenty of scope to adapt the programs if you wish.

Poor Spin times
Whilst the wash is good, the standard spin times in many of the set programs is so short clothes are still wet even on a 1400 spin. Some spin times are only 2 minutes compared to the 14 minute stand alone spin cycle. If you tumble dry, any saving on the wash is more than lost on increased tumble drying time. Quite a fundamental error on the part of Bosch.

Washing machine
The process of purchase was very quick, simple and satisfactory after my previous machine had flooded the utility room. It was delivered when requested and fitted for me by two very helpful gentlemen. My only regret is that it did not happen one week later when I saw that you had reduced the price of the machine by £50 immediately after Christmas!

Good machine, long cycles, not as quiet as everyone says
Getting on fine with this machine, but really only using the mixed load wash cycle (stated as 1 hour) as the others all seem to be around 2.5 hours long, which is ridiculously long for any machine. One gripe is that the timing of cycles is not accurate. The mixed cycle says it should take one hour, but each time it takes one hour and 12 minutes - I have timed it several times using a kitchen timer.
I was expecting the machine to be really quiet based on other reviews and have found it to be just as noisy as my 10 year old machine that it was replacing. I love the large drum and it takes huge loads, which is cutting down on the number of times I have to run the machine every week, which is far more helpful than I anticipated.
I have been unable to tailor any wash cycle, despite the instructions saying this would be possible. I wanted to run a mixed load at 60 degrees today, but the machine would only let me set it at 40 degrees or 30 degrees. I am guessing you can tailor down, but not tailor up, a wash cycle.
I have had it for one month, and would be happy to recommend it. The performance is solid and the large drum is great. It is easy to use and does what it says. The cycles are too long in my opinion, but there is one short cycle that is good, which is enough for me.
