Q & As

Bosch HBA13B150B Single Electric Oven, Brushed Stainless Steel 4.2 5 17 17
Looks good, but needs the right power supply Unfortunately, we were not able to install this oven in the end as it required a 16 amp power supply and there was only a 13 amp socket where it needed to go. However, John Lewis were very helpful and we were able to exchange it for a 13 amp model without any problem. My advice would be to check the power supply requirements before you buy and make sure you have the right power supply available. 27 January 2015
Excellent Oven.. We are very pleased with this product, The oven is a lot lighter inside easier to use and easy to clean... 09 December 2014
Great oven, except for the oversensitive touchscreen! I adored this oven until I started trying out the touch controls. i was dismayed to see that the display would change even with your hand or dress close to the screen, even without touching it. And the system would start beeping error warnings as soon as you went near it. The Bosch engineer who inspected it said it was the way the touchscreens worked on all models. Too bad Bosch did not put it to real tests! This model can never be used as an under the kitchen top oven, with a hob over it, where you have to stand close to it while cooking on the hob. I had to exchange this oven for a Bosch HBN331S2B at the end. 03 April 2014
Good basic oven I bought this as replacement for double oven freestanding in a holiday home. Decided to try one oven because of space. Didn't use grill much so thought it would be ok. Am getting used to it. I initially had grill pan at top but it blocked the light. I then put it lower down but had to clean it after cooking Christmas roast above it, so have to store elsewhere. You have to keep on top of cleaning, but self clean linings cost more. I understand what other people say about sensitive controls but I have a larger Bosch oven at home and am used to it. For the cost - this oven does its job. 02 January 2014
Good Value The oven is quite capacious, heats up quickly and cooks evenly. It is easy to keep clean and the timer is easy to use. The only criticism is that there is no means of telling the temperature of the oven, it would have been nice to see that up in lights. Definitely very good value for money. 31 December 2013
Big disappointment Was expecting a far superior oven so am disappointed with this model. Instruction booklet is very unclear. Oven door seems to heats up too much. The whole appliance seems too flimsy for a solid oven. Disappointed with this purchase. 05 November 2013
A good oven When I moved I urgently needed a new oven, this one is ideal. I agree about the sensitivity of the control panel, but am getting used to it. The oven is efficient and, does just what I hoped for from a Bosch medium/low priced appliance. Deilvery and fitting was ,as usual, with John Lewis very good. I would recommend this product . 03 November 2013
Looks good, but poor temperature and oversensitive electronic panel Nice looking oven, the first one I've bought, however following observations: 1. if you aren't keen on electronic controls think twice, they are quite sensitive and I keep setting off the countdown etc,. My friend has disabled (blacked out etc) the display box completely (ie you can get rid of clock visual if you want to) but if you touch the area even quite lightly it activates things. It seems a bit excessive to have the child lock on just to tuck the tea-towel in. 2. the major problem with operation however is temperature control accuracy - its quite fiddly to use the right hand control knob to get to the right temp (esp if the temp you are looking for is below the knob as you can't see the markings and have to get down on your knees) but I did first baking and even with a thermometer inside the oven it was over 20C too hot; am going to give it one more try (checking with a laser thermometer) and if it still this inaccurate then unfortunately I'll have to send back. The other features are excellent - heats up v quickly, easy to use, grill is fantastic, and design is great (other than wider handle needed for UK tea-towels). My personal preference is not for electronic controls and I should have thought more about that when choosing an oven. 30 May 2013
