Breville VKJ775 Traditional Kettle, Polished Stainless Steel
So noisy... and leaks too
I've just returned this kettle to John Lewis. I'd ignored the reviews saying it was noisy as I didn't think it would be a problem. However, the kettle was so noisy that it was impossible to hold a conversation without shouting when the kettle was boiling. Then, about three weeks after buying it, the kettle started to leak out of the bottom.
Would not recommend.

Great value, great looking kettle. Very fast to boil though a little noisy. Very pleased.

Early demise may be blessing
Kettle bought July 2013 showed signs of rust around lid opening and spout soon after purchase. In recent months it has appeared to take longer to boil. On the 28th March 2014 we woke to find it had passed away in the night. Being well within the one year guarantee period it has been returned and a refund obtained. The new kettle we have purchased is the same model not because we have any faith that it will be better but the choice in traditional kettles with a reasonable capacity is limit. The new kettle does have the advantage of a two year guarantee so if it fails before the end of March 2016 we will not be too unhappy and if it does last that long it will be the longest surviving kettle we have purchased in recent years. Yours, a rather disillusioned kettle shopper.

Leaks out of bottom!
Bought this product as it seemed a sensible replacement for our old kettle. First thing I noticed was that it is relatively noisy, but I wasn't too put off by that. However water leaks out of about four holes in the bottom and it's a week old... I'll be sending it back and won't replace like for like as I imagine this is poorly manufactured.

Are you like me, prefer a metal-cased kettle to a flask-shaped plastic container so often supplied in executive hotel rooms? If yes, look no further than the Brevitt VKJ775 Traditional Kettler! This full sized and noisy kettle is like meeting an old friend again.
