Renowned for their wooden toy trains and excellent craftmanship, Brio was established in 1884 in Boalt, southern Sweden. From a small village selling woodchip baskets, Ivar Bengtsson expanded his company and collection, launching their first toy, the wooden Osby horse in 1907. Ivar handed the reigns of the company to his three sons who founded BRIO, an acroynm of the Swedish word for brothers.
With an aim to create happy childhood memories, BRIO toys are crafted from high quality materials and provide children with the fun and stimulation they need as they develop. Their products keep the traditional craftmanship dating back to when the company first started and BRIO continue to innovative classic toys for future generations to enjoy.
