Brother MFC-J6510DW Wireless All-in-One A3 Colour Inkjet Printer 4.2 5 26 26
Constant Paper Jams & misfeeds !! I have been extremely disappointed with this printer. When you print multiple pages, it regularly feeds more than 1 piece at a time, printing across both sheets or more. If you want to print A3, you have to manually feed 1 sheet at a time. The manual feed is very problematic, it will beep to confirm the paper is present but won't actually print, or it prints crooked, or just feeds right the way through & then beeps because there is then no paper to print on! If you want to use paper thicker than a standard 80/90g it constantly jams, or you have to try using the manual feed, which means you then face the issues already described above. If you want a trouble free printing experience, AVOID this printer. 30 March 2013
Paper jam, paper jam, paper jam, paper jam.... When this printer works, it's brilliant. BUT.... I have now owned 6 printers in a year from various manufacturers and the quality on all has been appalling, so they've all been returned. I'm currently using my second of this particular model, the first being replaced by JL after constant paper jams. This second model has been OK, a few paper jams in a month but nothing major - until now. Today I've tried to print 35 single sided copies of a form. It has jammed 18 times so far. I've given up at 33 copies for the sake of my blood pressure. It's a big, heavy machine and every time it jams I have to pull it out from the cupboard, remove the tray, open the back, retrieve the shredded paper, push it back, open the top (because you have to), close the top and then start again. It's incredibly frustrating and a total waste of my time. I'll give it one more chance and failing that it's another one back to JL. Luckily JL customer service is second to none, so I know it will get sorted. 27 February 2013
good value for the price I bought this because my wife wanted an A3 scanner printer capable of enlargeing or reduceing for her painting. For the price it does a good job but if you are looking for a photo quality printer this isnt it. I have a 12year old HP that prints better photos. 27 December 2012
Excellent vallue for money Very efficient and fast printer. The quality of the colour is very good. Very pleased with the purchase. Printer is slight bigger in size then expected bu it functions really well. The set up was quick for the wi-fi. 17 December 2012
Don't buy this if you want a trouble-free printer! Bought mine from JLP in July. Soon realised I should have gone for J6710 which has separate tray for A3. J6510 involves lots of faffing about when changing from A4 to A3. Also, it has buttons to select fax, scan, copy - but no "Print" button, so if it decides it wants to be in fax mode there is no way to tell it to get back to being a printer. Have tried using photo paper but despite changing the settings for this, it insists there is a (fictitious) paper jam and refuses to print. Now getting the dreaded "No Station ID" message which means it thinks it's a fax and will not print anything. Googling shows this to be a problem difficult to resolve. Am now stuck with a printer that won't print just after stocking up with ink cartridges. 26 November 2012
Flexible friend This is a printer with so much to offer. Scanning, double sided printing and A3 were the key requirements. It is easy to set up though the wireless scanning function took a bit of getting used to. It did not seem to have a real competitor at that price. 18 October 2012
Oh Brother! Very good value printer. Easy to set up and use. Had lots of double sided printing to do and I got good quality prints from start to finish. Even changed cartridges half way through and no problems with quality of print on change over. Faster print speed would be better and although I've printed individual self seal envelopes from the manual feed I haven't yet got it to print bulk envelopes or the document(s# and corresponding envelope#s). Maybe I'm expecting too much but this is something that would be useful. I overcame by using labels which printed out OK. Haven't used all functions yet but on performance so far I don't expect problems. I'm very pleased with this purchase and consider this printer to be a very good buy. 12 October 2012
Impressive bit of kit Purchased primarily for the A3 scan facility and to a lesser degree the A3 print capability. It is being used in a home rather than business envoronment. I had read some comments about the colour print being washed out but so far I haven't noticed that. I am very impressed with it as an all round machine and fully recommend it. It was extremely easy to set up and was up and running in about 25 minutes with further tweaking taking place as I learn all about its impressive list of capabilities. A great bargain at the John Lewis online special price I paid but even although it has returned to its standard price I would still regard it as value for money. 04 October 2012
