Q & As

Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by First time sewing and already making wonders! I am in my early 30s and in FT professional employment so needed a machine that would not be too hard work. I decided that buying a sewing machine and choosing my own fabric was more efficient and better value than buying poor fabric chair covers. The machine was delivered very promptly. I have no sewing training but 30 minutes after receiving the product and playing the video ( in absolute slow mode) I was doing some stitches, and trying the various embroidery settings in old remnants. The morning after I felt more confident and cut my fabrics, two days later I had managed to make all my chair covers. I have now made a toys bag for my toddler and even a king size bedding set! Overall extremely pleased with the simplicity of the model, which is great for people with great enthusiasm but with no previous training. 06 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Sewing Machine I purchased this machine after my inherited 40+ year old machine gave up. I was able to discuss my options with a very helpful assistant at John Lewis, Bluewater but due to it being too busy was unable to have a demonstration. However, It is a brilliant machine. There are lots of stitch options, button holes and a variety of feet which come as standard. I love quilting and with the additional purchase of some specific tool attachments it copes brilliantly. I have made many quilts, bunting and children's costumes and simply love it. The DVD is helpful and the instruction booklet is good too. My only gripe is the flimsy 'dust cover'. I have bought a sturdy zipped bag which is big enough for the power lead etc as well. A great machine for a good price. 21 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Delighted! Wanting to replace a 30 year old machine I bought a very cheap machine as I mainly only use it for basic alterations. This proved a false economy, so I visited Cambridge John Lewis where a very helpful assistant recommended the Brother XN2500. I ordered on-line & received within a couple of days. The instructions are very comprehensive & I have just used it to turn up a pair of jeans, which it did with great ease, even on the bulky seams. Many thanks to the lady at John Lewis Cambridge for your advice! 13 June 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely thrilled Bought this machine for my daughter after doing much research. As a beginner she found the dvd very useful and is really pleased with results. The quality of the stitching is high and the fact it will cope with all weights of fabric is great. All in all with a 3 year guarantee we are very pleased with our purchase. 25 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My new sewing machine! I bought this sewing machine to replace an old dear friend, which I had used for over 30 years. It took me a few minutes to set it up - and I was overjoyed at the ease in which I was able to use it to repair and alter clothes. The additional fancy stiches will be fun to use in the future when I want to customised clothes - can't wait to use them! All in all, really nice machine with all the additional extras that I will ever need! 22 October 2012
