Bugaboo Bee+ Stroller and Base

Product information

Introducing the new Bugaboo Bee, Bugaboo's most compact stroller yet. Its nimble, one-piece foldable design is easy to manoeuvre and as it grows with your child, it's suitable from newborn to toddler.

Please note: to complete your Bugaboo Bee+ you will need to order a sun canopy (sold separately).

The Bugaboo Bee has a spacious, fully reclining, extendable seat that is ideal for newborns and when it's time to update for a toddler, the seat reverses and adjusts to your growing child. Once in seat mode there is a 3 position recline and an adjustable backrest. For added comfort you can add a reversible seat liner for extra padding (sold separately). It allows you to switch from breathable twill to cool mesh, to wick away moisture and keep your child comfortable and dry. The 5-point harness is soft, and has adjustable shoulder pads to ensure a secure fit no matter how small or big your child is.

The Bee is also full of features that will keep mum and dad happy. The one-piece fold makes it easy to carry and store and as it's lightweight it can easily be transferred to a car boot or up stairs. The two front wheels swivel 360 degrees for total agility and the easily accessible foot break allows for fuss-free stopping. All four tyres are foam filled, so they'll never go flat and each wheel is equipped with independent suspension to ensure a smooth ride for parent and child. Plus the height-adjustable handlebar allows for easy one-handed steering.

Compatible with the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix and Pebble infant carriers when used with Bugaboo car seat adaptors (sold separately).

Editors Notes

In 1994 two men had an idea that revolutionised an industry and created one of the most sought after pushchair brands. In 1999 the first Bugaboo Classic appeared on the streets of Holland and since then they launched the Bugaboo Cameleon in 2005, the more compact Bee in 2007 and then the versatile Donkey in 2012.

Q & As

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant Buggy! I never ever write reviews but feel compelled to do so with this buggy! It is absolutely superb! Our little boy has always hated lying flat in his bassinet and we've barely had a trip out where we haven't had to carry him most of the time. Not since we bought the Bugaboo Bee! He loves sitting in his new buggy! It can be used parent facing which is lovely and all the adjustments are easy to figure out. It pushes like a dream and the suspension on each wheel makes it smooth and bouncy. It's so easy to collapse and set up even with a baby in one hand. It's not a buggy for rough terrain but for city walks and shopping trips it's perfect! it also fits nicely in a smaller car boot! It's a little on the pricey side but you're definitely paying for what you get. We are so pleased with our purchase! John Lewis delivery and customer services are also second to none - we ordered the buggy on Monday evening and it arrived early Wednesday morning! Excellent all round! 15 May 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love this buggy but it is not perfect In a nutshell - this is a great buggy but there are a few niggles that made me want to write this review because when i was pregnant and looking at buggys i didnt know what i needed and my husband and I were overwhelmed by the choices and options available. On the plus side this is one of the lightest buggies on the market and that has been a real bonus. When your hormones are still making your muscles weak for weeks after having a baby it's really easy to put your back out lifting car seats and buggys. If you have to heave a pushchair in and out of a car boot yourself it really helps that this little pushchair is so light, easy to put up with one click and also collapse. On the negative side i find the shopping basket is too small for a fully loaded baby bag and i have to wrestle it in and out. Also, at times the lightweight quality makes it not feel terribly substantial. I did worry that the Bee was a bit flimsy and my newborn was vulnerable in this rather low little buggy in lie flat mode with the cocoon. If this concerns you too, I would look at the Bugaboo Cameleon with carrycot. Now my daughter is six months (& my back still aches) I love this buggy! It is a go anywhere, nippy and agile little buggy. The Bee is versatile and practical in everyday usage. It looks great too with a choice of colour of options & the accessories are also great- I have bought the UV50 sun canopy for holidays and the (maxi cosi) car seat adapters - it forms a really neat little travel system. Would I buy this buggy again - Yes! The Bugaboo Bee is a great buggy for shopping & folding into a car. It is not a substantial pram, but despite its niggles I would buy it again. 31 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by overview of the Bugaboo Bee+ This is another product from Bugaboo designed with specific needs of parents in mind, with the Bee+ aimed at mainly city dwellers. It has been nicknamed by them the Urban and this is easy to see why. It can be folded quickly and easily and with the seat in place. It is small, light and compact to the extent it will fit into a small car boot - I have personally fitted this into the boot of a Toyota Yaris. The seat takes a child up to 17 kilos and can be fitted either to face the parent or when the little person begins to become inquisitive, can face forward. One great feature of the seat is that it extends forward and upward so grows with the child. Although the Bee+ has smaller wheels, it has spring suspension all round, and the previously mentioned problem with shimmying has been overcome with the introduction of new spring Wave Washers to the front wheels. The hood is supplied separately at an extra cost, however it is also a great way of changing the look with a different colour without changing the whole stroller. 04 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant pushchair We bought the Bee+ after extensive research and then trying them all out in the store and haven't regretted it for a minute. We are pushed for space in our house and car so this is perfect as it folds up small, light - you can carry it in one hand and there is no carry cot to store when they get bigger. It also turns on a pin so is great for shopping and manoeuvring in small spaces. Our daughter is now 20 months and likes to walk some of the way, the Bee+ is light enough for me to push with one hand while walking with her. Colour choice is fab although accessories are expensive so the price builds up! JL staff were ever so helpful with ordering and price matched a bundle we found on the net. The only negative is that the seat is quite low down, if you are quite tall (which neither of us are) then you might find that getting baby in and out when they are really small could be a bit awkward. Also it is not built for off road or sand, definitely a city users buggy. But other than that is brilliant! 13 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hard-wearning and reliable. I bought my Bee from John Lewis when my daughter was born, nearly 3 years ago, and she used it from 6 weeks (I carried her in a sling before then) until the present day. I am fully expecting to get the same amount of use out of it for my second child who is due this summer. I have never regretted this purchase for a moment, and I believe it is worth every penny. It is very easy to use and manouvre, folds up and down easily and stashes neatly into the tiny boot of my tiny car, almost with one hand. Even after a few years of tough usage it still looks smart and tidy. Mine has done many, many miles in varied terrain. I was initially concerned about reviews saying it was only good for going to the shops, but I have found that as long as the ground is firm under foot, it is fine. So sand and snow are out, but grass and forest paths are all completely manageable. I would recommend this stroller to everyone. 12 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Don't need any other stroller!!! I bought the Bugaboo bee after being recommended it by a Partner on the Nursery Dept. I am so glad I bought it. My 1 month old daughter loves it, and so do I! It's so easy to push and manoeuvre. I tried pushing lots of different ones in the shop and this one seemed really easy, it's just the same out and about with a baby in it. It has an adjustable handle which is handy as I'm only 5ft1 and my Husband is 5ft10. It's so easy to fold, and folds so small too!! I've used it on public transport and it's no problem at all. I even took it out in the recent snow and it did better than I thought as it only has small wheels, but I think the 4-wheel suspension made the difference. The fact you can make it look like a completely different pushchair in a second by buying another coloured hood is fantastic. I have yet to find a flaw with it. To be honest I doubt I will. I can't recommend it more! If I could give it 6 stars out of 5 I would. 31 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ideal We have had our bee+ for 4 months now and couldn't be happier it stays in one piece when being folded and packs down very well it easily fits in to both my Fabia and my wife's Clio with room to spare. When in use it is simple to put up & down robust but light easy to steer with one hand and even copes well with bumpy terrain it would struggle being really off road but any types of path or dirt tracks are fine. The cocoon we purchased with it is an essential as without it our newborn would have been too exposed but choosing colours for that and the hood was part of the fun! It is necessary to strap little one in even when flat which seems like a pain to start with but I'm over that now and really think we won't end up just getting a buggy which many of our friends have done after spending a lot on bulky travel systems. The service at Solihull was excellent lots of time spent with us testing out different systems before we settled on the bee+ then we ordered online and received a large delivery pram cot etc with no worrys! Thank you JL excellent again 09 November 2012
