Bugaboo Bee+ Stroller and Base
overview of the Bugaboo Bee+
This is another product from Bugaboo designed with specific needs of parents in mind, with the Bee+ aimed at mainly city dwellers. It has been nicknamed by them the Urban and this is easy to see why. It can be folded quickly and easily and with the seat in place. It is small, light and compact to the extent it will fit into a small car boot - I have personally fitted this into the boot of a Toyota Yaris. The seat takes a child up to 17 kilos and can be fitted either to face the parent or when the little person begins to become inquisitive, can face forward. One great feature of the seat is that it extends forward and upward so grows with the child. Although the Bee+ has smaller wheels, it has spring suspension all round, and the previously mentioned problem with shimmying has been overcome with the introduction of new spring Wave Washers to the front wheels. The hood is supplied separately at an extra cost, however it is also a great way of changing the look with a different colour without changing the whole stroller.

We bought the Bee+ after extensive research and then trying them all out in the store and haven't regretted it for a minute. We are pushed for space in our house and car so this is perfect as it folds up small, light - you can carry it in one hand and there is no carry cot to store when they get bigger. It also turns on a pin so is great for shopping and manoeuvring in small spaces. Our daughter is now 20 months and likes to walk some of the way, the Bee+ is light enough for me to push with one hand while walking with her. Colour choice is fab although accessories are expensive so the price builds up! JL staff were ever so helpful with ordering and price matched a bundle we found on the net.
The only negative is that the seat is quite low down, if you are quite tall (which neither of us are) then you might find that getting baby in and out when they are really small could be a bit awkward. Also it is not built for off road or sand, definitely a city users buggy. But other than that is brilliant!

Hard-wearning and reliable.
I bought my Bee from John Lewis when my daughter was born, nearly 3 years ago, and she used it from 6 weeks (I carried her in a sling before then) until the present day. I am fully expecting to get the same amount of use out of it for my second child who is due this summer. I have never regretted this purchase for a moment, and I believe it is worth every penny. It is very easy to use and manouvre, folds up and down easily and stashes neatly into the tiny boot of my tiny car, almost with one hand. Even after a few years of tough usage it still looks smart and tidy. Mine has done many, many miles in varied terrain. I was initially concerned about reviews saying it was only good for going to the shops, but I have found that as long as the ground is firm under foot, it is fine. So sand and snow are out, but grass and forest paths are all completely manageable. I would recommend this stroller to everyone.

Don't need any other stroller!!!
I bought the Bugaboo bee after being recommended it by a Partner on the Nursery Dept. I am so glad I bought it. My 1 month old daughter loves it, and so do I!
It's so easy to push and manoeuvre. I tried pushing lots of different ones in the shop and this one seemed really easy, it's just the same out and about with a baby in it. It has an adjustable handle which is handy as I'm only 5ft1 and my Husband is 5ft10.
It's so easy to fold, and folds so small too!! I've used it on public transport and it's no problem at all. I even took it out in the recent snow and it did better than I thought as it only has small wheels, but I think the 4-wheel suspension made the difference. The fact you can make it look like a completely different pushchair in a second by buying another coloured hood is fantastic.
I have yet to find a flaw with it. To be honest I doubt I will.
I can't recommend it more! If I could give it 6 stars out of 5 I would.

We have had our bee+ for 4 months now and couldn't be happier it stays in one piece when being folded and packs down very well it easily fits in to both my Fabia and my wife's Clio with room to spare.
When in use it is simple to put up & down robust but light easy to steer with one hand and even copes well with bumpy terrain it would struggle being really off road but any types of path or dirt tracks are fine.
The cocoon we purchased with it is an essential as without it our newborn would have been too exposed but choosing colours for that and the hood was part of the fun!
It is necessary to strap little one in even when flat which seems like a pain to start with but I'm over that now and really think we won't end up just getting a buggy which many of our friends have done after spending a lot on bulky travel systems.
The service at Solihull was excellent lots of time spent with us testing out different systems before we settled on the bee+ then we ordered online and received a large delivery pram cot etc with no worrys!
Thank you JL excellent again

Problem shimmying, otherwise fab!
Bought the Bee in November 2011 for my second daughter. I loved it from the outset. Used it with the cocoon when she was newborn and then with the footmuff. I agree it is very expensive with all the "add ons" but worth it. It is very easy to push/collapse .Indeed, my 3 year old can push it! HOWEVER, my beloved Bee started to shimmy. The front wheels had a mind of their own. Phoned John Lewis customer service and within a day I received a brand new Bee! I cannot PRAISE John Lewis enough for their speedy response. Interestingly, the new bee I have received comes with bits to put on the wheels to avoid shimmying so might be a design a flaw. Regardless, I have a brand new Bee, no shimmying, happy mummy and a very happy 9 month old baby. I should also add that the BEE is not good off road, if you want it for country walks etc it is not the pram to get ( we have a cheap three wheeler for that) I really would not be put off by the problems I have experienced, I wish I had got the Bee first time around.
