This is the worst and most complicated kettle I have ever used. As is usual in Italian products, the design was nice but engineering terrible. The kettle developed a fault two weeks after purchase. After wasting our time reading the manual meticulously and trouble-spotting, nothing worked. The kettle could tell us the time perfectly but couldn't boil any water.
Better to buy a simpler more reliable make like Dualit or Cuisinart

We had one of the very early Vera kettles which had loads of problems and for years has not switched itself off!! At the end of my tether, and not being able to find anything that compares, I brought another one! This time Matt black as opposed to red and it is stunning. No problem at all thus far and brought from JL as has 3 year warranty so feel some greater sense of security should it go wrong. It is a stunning piece and fingers crossed this issues the original batches had are now resolved, for the time being however I am absolutely delighted.

Another overly complex hassle in you life. Who needs to programme a kettle anyway? Impossible to understand the programme. Also if you don't fill it up enough it won't work. Sometimes you can overfill it and guess what, it doesn't work. It has a very short cord so you have to place it right next to the power point. Style with no function. An expensive, annoying waste of money.

We were bought this kettle as a gift from John Lewis online, we were so pleased with it as it is such a statement piece.
However our joy turned to dismay as within the warranty period the blue display started to fail, becoming unreadable.
We were asked to send the kettle back to Italy, which we did, Bugatti then sent out a replacement.
Kettle No.2 worked for 8 months, different fault symptoms though, this time it simply wouldn't boil.
This time it was sent to the agent in London, they shipped out a replacement.
Kettle No.3 has in fact outlived No.s 1&2, but that too has now failed, and has the display and the 'non boil' faults!

I absolutely love the design of this kettle and creates a complimentary conversation on its style every time someone new enters my kitchen.
It has played up on numerous occasions resulting in having to reset it like other reviewers have mentioned.
However the style of this kettle stops me from returning it, it is so authentic and a statement piece.
It is very expensive for a kettle, my reasons for also purchasing an Alessi stove top kettle so save having to use the Bagatti as often.
Boils very quickly and very quiet too.
I have given 3 stars more so for its designer look than it's actual practical use.

This kettle is the most unreliable kettle I have ever owned. It needs rebooting more often than my Windows phone! Honestly, since we took it out of the box it has been nothng but trouble, About 30% of the time you hit the button to boil and it sits there doing nothing... and then when it does start to boil (it is very quiet), about 60% of the time it will then stop at random temperatures.. it may be 40deg or 50deg or 80deg... and when it does stop, you then have to reset it using a fiddly lillte reset "pin hole" on the inside of the handle.
It has now complletely failed... all the lights and LEDs have gone out and this is now a dead kettle.
This kettle is being sold at a premium price and for that amount of money you would expect a quality product. I have given 1 star for "poor quality and poor value"
I could not recommend this Kettle to anyone who actually wants to make a cup of tea once or twice a day!

Both myself and my mother bought this kettle and have both had nothing but problems with them since the word go! The writing on the power button rubbed off after just a months use, every time you fill the kettle it resets itself to factory settings. And finally, the boil function won't turn itself off so the only way to stop it boiling is to turn the power off at the mains and keep it turned off until you need to use it again. Considering how expensive this kettle is I would advise you to save your pennies and buy a cheaper more reliable kettle! I've only given it 1 star as I had to put at least one star but if I had the option it would get zero stars!
