disapppointed we took delivery of the fire in November and initially was very pleased with it, but last week the bulb went and I found to replace you had to unscrew the fire effect on the fron t of the fire, and as the bulb was so tightly screwed in I had to wait for my son to call to get it out which was a little disappointing, I have had a fuel effect fire before and you just had to lift off the coal effect. Perhaps someone will look at the design because this happened when my husband was in hospital and I thought it would be a very simple job. 18 January 2013

Very pleased I had the fire delivered last week and really like it. It is very effective and a pleasing new piece of furniture. I did expect it to be taller (from the photo) but as I only have a small room it is fine. The shelves at the sides are quite small but enhance the appearance. 14 January 2013

A Lovely, Homely Fire We wish we had bought this fire a long time ago! It is an excellent product, with two settings for the heat. Alternatively, you can have the flame burning on its own. Our lounge is heated quickly and efficiently and the added feature of the shelves means we can have some ornaments adorning them. I would recommend this fire to anyone. 18 April 2012

Burley Fuel Effect electric fire and suite This fire was purchased from the web site (we were not able to view the fire in store). The first one we received was quite noisy but the customer service we received from both John Lewis and also Burley was exceptional and the fire was exchanged. We are now delighted with the fire, we have it for the fuel effect rather than the fan heater which would be noisy if used although it is very efficient and you would not need it on for very long. Everyone who sees it thinks it is absolutely brilliant. The best thing so far as we are concerned is that it is free standing and does not take up as much room as a convenitonal hearth. 23 November 2011
