Image stabilisation
The optical Image Stabiliser is vital for capturing sharp images in low light or when using the full extent of the zoom. Featuring Canon’s Intelligent IS technology, the camera automatically selects the best mode from eight options to ensure clear, detailed photos and movies.

Auto shooting
Effortlessly point and shoot for great photos and movies thanks to Smart Auto, which detects the scene and selects perfect settings from 32 variables (21 in movies). Hybrid Auto lets you take photos with Smart Auto and captures a 4 second movie clip before each shot – combining all of them into a fun HD movie.

Show the world your latest images using Wi-Fi and NFC to connect the camera to your smartphone. Simply connect with printers, PCs and other compatible devices for easy online sharing and backup.

Full HD video
Record superb, Full HD (1080p) movies in MP4 format. Intelligent IS makes movies steadier even when you are walking or shooting from inside a moving car for solid footage. When you get home use the HDMI-CEC connection for viewing and controlling your movies playback on a compatible HDTV.

Just what |I needed Smaller than my previous camera, this one does everything I want it to and there are many features I have not yet discovered. It is small and neat and travels well I n my handbag. I would recommend it as value for money. 19 November 2014
Easy to use camera This camera takes a great picture. It is lightweight and compact and so easy to use. It ticks all the boxes. 30 September 2014
Fits in my pocket The camera is slightly larger than the Canon Ixus 110IS I used to have, but still slips easily into my pocket. It takes good photos in normal light, which is what I want. I have three quibbles. First, there isn't a viewfinder and composing a shot on the screen in strong sunlight involves some guesswork. Secondly, there isn't a 'sports' mode. Finally, on several occasions the battery has run down after the camera had been in my pocket for only a few days. I don't know why this is, but wonder whether I've inadvertently pressed either the playback or wi-fi connection buttons and switched the camera on. 25 September 2014
Easy to use I bought this camera for my 10 year old son, it is really easy to use, the photos are a great quality, overall a fab purchase. 16 September 2014
Good Camera but .... Haven't had full use of the camera yet (ie on holiday) but first impressions of the picture taking are very good. Good quality photos, reasonably sharp, easy to use and great optical zoom range. But........ Setting up the WiFi took ages and was not straight forward. The instruction Manual gives most of the info but not in a logical order, and after about 3 weeks I managed to get all the WiFi functions (ie transmitting pictures direct to computer) working. The last steps were done by guesswork and luck - Canon did not respond to 3 emails for assistance at all so not great customer service there. And after all that it's actually much quicker to download the photos direct from the SD card. Still, looks like a great little camera with an awful lot of features packed in and I am looking forward to using it properly. 28 August 2014
poor software Great camera, but transferring my photos to my laptop running Windows 8 is a nightmare. Even after a half hour talk with Canon's helpline, I still can't get it done without a lot of fiddling. My last camera was an Olympus and all I had to do was connect to my laptop and the software launched automatically. One click and my photos were transferred. Not so with the Canon. I'm still considering returning it to the store and getting a different make 21 August 2014
My Canon Ixus 265 HS HD 1080p This is my 6th Canon Camera. I opted for the Silver metal case, I just think it looks sleeker. A great little camera, so easy to use with loads of extra features. One little tip, bur a faster SD card to help catch all of the action, especially if you have little grand children or your kids are still young. 23 July 2014
Great camera I've had a couple of these very small Canon cameras. I like them because you can slip them in your pocket and always have them available. My only complaint (to Canon, not to John Lewis), is that they no longer have a viewfinder. This means that, when you're in strong sunshine, it's difficult to see what you're looking at. Despite that, this is a good all round camera if you're looking for something small and light. 22 July 2014
