Product information

This gorgeous sewing box measures just a foot across and extends out over 3 tiers, so it can store all your sewing bits and pieces in a compact manner. It’s made from solid New Zealand pine and features pretty dovetailed corners and simple rounded knobs. And there’s a carrying handle at the top.

Open the cantilevered box and you’ll find 3 tiers and 5 compartments for storing threads, needles, thimbles and scissors. Below, there’s a drawer for larger items, such as knitting needles or pattern books. In fact, there’s room for everything, large or small.

Really good product I purchased this as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. She was delighted with it. Good quality box and brilliant for storing all your sewing bits and bobs. 19 January 2013

Quite good but could be improved This is quite a nice unit and in spite of the following comments we are pleased with it. The only manufacturing problem is that the top covers don't all quite close due to interference at the hinges. Its not a big problem, some covers sit open by about 1mm and will probably sort themselves out over time. At this price I was disappointed at the internal finish which has hardboard bottoms to the sections. It would have been nice if these had been a better quality material or had been covered with, say, red baize which is something I will do. I had also hoped my wife could have stored knitting patterns in the drawer but it is too narrow front to back. However its a useful place for her many knitting needles. A useful optional accompaniment would be a base unit of two deep trays for the box to sit on/in to contain full size balls of wool. They would stack on top of each other with the sewing box in/on top. That would also raise it to a useful height when sitting knitting or sewing. I will be making one. 04 January 2013

SEwing box Bought as a birthday present for a very discerning daughter it brought delight. Needed in a hurry and JL delivery was exemplary, above and beyond. 08 July 2012

Tacky Hugely disappointing. Opened the box on delivery expecting to see a really good quality product which would delight my wife for her birthday. Instead, it looks like a junior chippy knocked it together with the cheapest nastiest antique 1970's pine he could find and then varnished it with pva. The screws holding it together are barely long enough to join the wood and the bottom drawer is so badly finished it is all but impossible to pull out. The drawer handles (basically bits of 2" dowel tacked on) are loose and will fall out after a couple of pulls. It really feels like a breath of wind would knock it apart. Do yourselves a favour, buy a diffent one or better still, make your own. Anything's better that this tat. 27 June 2012

Beautifully made, shame about the detail. This arrived just in time for my wife's birthday. On unpacking and checking prior to "gift wrapping" I found one of the joints at the rear of the bottom drawer was not glued properly. Not having time to send it back I used UHU to save the situation. A shame the manufactuers had not out inspected it properly. 16 May 2012

Nice looking and useful Well made and lots of compartments to organise stuff in. However, evem though I measured it before ordering there is much less capacity than I'd expected and I've ended up with 2 boxes of stuff which wouldn't fit (and I gave a friend a load of cotton reels)! Nevertheless a nice looking and well made product. 06 May 2012
