Q & As

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by first class product purchase this item for our grandson he was very happy 29 July 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Celestron FirstScope C21024 Telescope Bought for my 6 year old Grandson. Due to its ease of use it is the ideal starter telescope. Plus it is powerful enough to keep them interested in the moon and stars on a clear night. Would recommend as a definated starter telescope. 27 January 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by In-Scope! Really good entry scope for my 7 year old. Easy to set-up and dissemble. Terrific views of the near planets such as the Moon and Jupiter. Would strongly recommend. The only downside if that you need to also purchase the accessory pack with the scope - but this works out very well as it includes a moon filter and additional lenses, which turn out to be very useful as they include a 0.5mm one for viewing. Good purchase. 17 January 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great first telescope I bought this for my father who is interested in star gazing but has not ever actually had a telescope before. I wanted a small telescope that he could put out of sight easily when not in use and not clutter his house up. I searched the internet for all the best reviews of telescopes and this one came out top. I am very impressed with it and it can pick up some great views of the moon, saturn and mars. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants good views but doesn't want to pay the earth! 17 January 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great beginners scope I bought the telescope for my boyfriend for christmas. We used it on boxing day and saw Venus and Mars. It was great. However, I would suggest buying the accessory pack for it as it give you extra lenses and a focus. The telescope is great value and a good present for anyone who shows an interest in space! 04 January 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent starter telescope This was a Christmas present for my 8 year old grandson. A tidy package so only small stowage space required when not in use. Easy to set up, even though enclosed instructions were rather limited. Lower magnification ideal for viewing the moon and terrestrial objects, Jupiter's moons visible at the higher mag. The rotational base and angle adjustment are smooth in use, the latter comes with a tension screw. The lenses are not the best but good enough. More serious sky watchers will probably want to purchase another lens to achieve higher magnification. My grandson soon got the hang of things and loves it! 04 January 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ideal first telescope Sturdy and ideal for the 9 year old it was chosen for. It has piqued his interest even more in the universe and for his Christmas present he got the bigger lens to upgrade as he learnt to use the telescope very easily. Now we just need clear skies. 31 December 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Son delighted with first telescope This is a great first telescope - really sturdy and suitable from a young age. Bought it for my son's 8th birthday. He was thrilled. It's quite tricky to understand at first how the telescope works, takes some getting used to, getting the hang of looking into the top. Finding and focussing is fiddly at first - the first evening we tried it it took us (both) a full half hour to find the (enormous) full moon in the sky. But we (well, he, mostly) have since got far more expert. We've seen Saturn's rings and Jupiter's red spot. He loves his telescope, that's the main thing. 23 November 2011
