Q & As

Rated 4 out of 5 by 36 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for chicken broth Now I can easily prepare my favourite chicken broth receipt. The slow cooker doesn’t have any light to indicate it is on, the way to realise it is actually on, you need to touch the pot, the pot becomes warm but doesn’t burn you. 16 June 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very useful prod Cooks well, but would like a light to tell when it is on like other slow cookers. Only way to tell it is on is to put your hand on it which could be dangerous. 13 May 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Slo cooker Excellent value for money, just the job for a family of four really easy to use 21 April 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by Good, but not great The big plus is that it has two cooking settings, and a "keep warm" option. The negatives for us are: As others have noted, the heat settings are a bit too high - there is always some burnt-on food to soak off the crock, though we haven't noted any burnt taste to the food yet. The crock can't be used on a stove burner (unlike our old Morphy Richards), so you need another pan for softening onions/browning meat. There's no power indicator light. The outside isn't insulated, and runs hot enough to be a potential problem. 28 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent value Very good mid range slow cooker,,does exactly what it should, three useful temp settings. 17 March 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Consistently burning food - way too hot ..having enjoyed using a slow cooker for 19 yrs I decided it was time to upgrade as I wanted a bigger capacity cooker. I sold my old one which was still working well and bought this one, BIG mistake. From the outset the food even on the low setting was burnt, the outer wall get extremely hot as mentioned by a prev reviewer. i did initlally think that maybe it was just that my old one was old and this one was at the temp it was supposed to be at..however I persevered but end results always the same, burnt food and lots of scrubbing/soaking of pot to remove the stuff. Yesterday a pork casserole burnt dry in 7 hrs. ALL my cooking has been on the low setting. Today I put a chicken curry in the cooker - ingredients full to capacity , when i returned after just 4 hrs on the low setting, the food was cooked and the liquid was on a bubbling boil - I left it with the lid off and it is so hot that it is still on a slow boil with the lid off. The whole point is that slow cookers can be safely left to their own devices for many hours on a low setting with none of these issues. Given that this pot gets so hot so quickly one wonders if it is safe to be left unattended - I am seriously wondering if this pot is fit for purpose - I have given it the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions but now that I have read other folks experiences I an convinced that this product is faulty and could be potentially dangerous due to overheating. I agree it should be withdrawn. I have rung customer service but as I cannot produce a receipt (MY fault entirely) I am stuck with it . Some people seem to have no issue with this cooker, all I can say is if you still wish to buy this keep your receipt in case you are one of the unlucky ones and your cooker incinerates all placed within. 11 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great easy to use product. Love this item. Makes lovely meals every time. Have good two heat settings and keep warm option. Haven't needed more different settings. The oval design doesn't take too much space up as can be put against the wall. Only drawback that I would say is that it doesn't have light indicator that it is on. I keep touching it to check that it is warming up (not always easy to tell if you are using hot stock) as don't want to leave the house and realise that it wasn't plugged inn. Otherwise great product that does the job well. 11 February 2015
