Cuisinart DGB900BCU Grind and Brew
Very disappointing buy
The grinder part of the machine stopped working early on and we have ceased to use it as it so easily became blocked. The lid of the jug is extremely hard to remove. The machine frequently floods when we make several cups even though we do not exceed the limit. The jug does not keep the coffee nearly as hot as our previous thermos jug machine. We are now looking for a replacement and it certainly will not be thisbrand again

When my trusty old Braun filter coffee machine gave up the ghost after ten years of faithful service, I traipsed down to Juan Louis Oxford Street for a replacement.
I'd read some of the reviews on www.johnlewis.com, and I liked the look of the Cuisinart Grind and Brew, not least because it handles both ground and un-ground coffee (very helpful when you've sometimes been known to pick up the wrong type during a rushed weekly shop!)
In truth, I was somewhat disappointed when I got home, opened up the box and discovered that the one I'd been sold had already been used, and didn't work (top tip - open the box in the shop to make sure you've got a brand new one, and not a return!), but a quick trip back to Technical Support and I was soon walking away with a brand new replacement.
And even if it's not breakfast time anymore, and I've spent most of my Sunday in pursuit of my caffeine kick - as I write this review, I'm sitting drinking a perfectly delicious, freshly ground, freshly brewed, cup of coffee from my new Cuisinart - I find myself contented.

bean to cup is the way to go.
I choose this as my first bean to cup machine and can't find fault with it, its easy to use once you read the manual.
Then its just a case of trying out all the different settings and finding whats best for you.
At the time of purchase this seemed to be the best in its price range and I'm so pleased with it, I'm already saving for my next bean to cup machine.
I bought direct in-store and find the staff as helpful as ever.

Coffee maker Cuisinart
Bought this coffee machine 5 years ago and it has been excellent until this week when water started to leak from underneath. Cannot repair, checked online and others have experienced this problem. Pity as it was very good at making coffee.

Bought this as a Xmas present for my boyfriend. He loves it, wishes he could use it more often! What I love about this machine is you can fill it up with beans and it will only take a few to grind depending on what amount setting you have asked for. We assumed it did the same with the water so filled it up to the top...it didn't, which was a bit of a let down because we just liked how easy it was to turn it on and go and fill it every so often.
But other than that we love it so overall great purchase!

Effective and stylish piece of kit
Bought this after careful consideration. I have had a nespresso coffee maker for years and never really liked it as it only makes one small cup at a time, and the coffee is very expensive. This machine makes a jugful in <10 mins and straight from the bean.
Having played about with it -- I am really pleased. Having read previous reviews - Can I offer a few tips?
You do get used to the carafe. If you really want the dregs, simply remove the lid. Swirl the carafe after brewing to balance the flavour. Pre-heat before use with hot water (as previously suggested). You do get some sediment from the permanent filter, so maybe paper ones would be better and reduce cleaning.
There is a video available on You Tube - "Cuisinart Burr gind and brew 12 cup coffee maker" by Mary Rodgers of Cuisinart which is very informative.
On the whole - stylish and sturdy and does what it says on the tin. I am impressed.

Decided to purchase this coffee machine because of the reasonable price, ease of use and the fact that it grinds the beans, no matter how many beans you put in it just grinds the amount you need for the chosen number of cups.
The only problem I find is it soon goes cold when its put in the cup but I wonder if that's due to the cold weather still glad I bought it

Large parties only!
I really like this product when I saw it in the store & thought it would be perfect as both my husband & I like real coffee& prefer to grind or own beans; The facility to make espresso or cappuccinos we did not feel we would use every day or necessarily needed at home.
The one draw back, which in the end meant we returned the product unused, was that the machine only catered for 4-12 cups which meant we had to make more than we needed initially and leave the rest to keep hot for later on in the day. A great machine for dinner parties when you have a lot of guests, but not in the end for us and our 1 or 2 cups a day.
