Product information

In curvaceous brushed steel, the Cuisinart DGB900BCU grinds your coffee beans automatically before brewing – so you wake up to the inviting aroma of the freshest coffee. Ground coffee can also be used if the occasion arises, for extra flexibility.

The integral hopper holds up to 225g of your favourite beans, with the burr plates extracting the ultimate flavour. A strength selector lets you personalise the coffee to suit your taste, and you can set the Cuisinart DGB900BCU to produce between 2 and 12 cups.

The programmable timer ensures the coffee is rustled up just when you want it, and a thermal insulated carafe keeps your coffee warm for up to 12 hours.

Im on to my 3rd one now ! Looks great and makes a fine coffee, but it will break down !!!! The first two lasted just under a year then they stop grinding. Were the beans are ground is quite hard to clean out so I'm guessing that a build up of coffee cause the grinder to shear.I cleaned it out after the hopper was empty EVERY TIME which is a lot more then cuisinart recommend.Great customer service from JLP every time. 21 March 2014
disappointing Coffee was muddy with a lot of grounds left in the cup, despite swirling the coffee in the jug as instructed. Coffee also tasteless despite using the same Lavazza beans as we used in our old machine. We tried all strength settings & even tried ready ground coffee but with no improvement. Difficult to pour from the jug, it needs to be almost upside down if you make only 4 cups. Such a shame as it is very good looking and the large capacity was exactly what we were looking for. Definitely a case of style over substance. Don't know if it was faulty or we're especially fussy but fortunately John Lewis accepted it back. 01 March 2014
Fun but complicated Larger than I expected so needs to be moved from under cupboards before filling. Takes some time to understand instructions and to fit together. Does not grind enough coffee so need to add ground as well. Fiddly to clean. Noisy and takes several minutes to make what it calls 7 cups - actually about 3 mugs. Quality of coffee good and keeps hot for some time, but not long enough for before and after golf! Probably better than old vacuum filter machine but hope it lasts as long... 14 January 2014
Dud Many thanks to excellent JL customer service that is second to none; quick, polite and highly organised. First machine from JL busted after the grinder just refused to function, within 48 hours. The replacement did the same thing a few weeks after receipt. Coffee not the best in taste, even though sublime Lavazza used plus the process was messy and mechanical with lots of handwork before ready to grind. In my opinion there was only one reason for failure; rubbish quality grinder. There cannot be any other reason. The new replacement, hopefully the last, the Philips equivalent, is so far much superior, a lot less messy (does not flood the kitchen!) and makes superior filter coffee, using old fashioned filter papers. I would say the Cuisinart DGB900BCU Grind and Brew version has design flaws and is not recommended by me. 16 December 2013
Very disappointing buy The grinder part of the machine stopped working early on and we have ceased to use it as it so easily became blocked. The lid of the jug is extremely hard to remove. The machine frequently floods when we make several cups even though we do not exceed the limit. The jug does not keep the coffee nearly as hot as our previous thermos jug machine. We are now looking for a replacement and it certainly will not be thisbrand again 09 August 2013
Cool Beans!!! When my trusty old Braun filter coffee machine gave up the ghost after ten years of faithful service, I traipsed down to Juan Louis Oxford Street for a replacement. I'd read some of the reviews on www.johnlewis.com, and I liked the look of the Cuisinart Grind and Brew, not least because it handles both ground and un-ground coffee (very helpful when you've sometimes been known to pick up the wrong type during a rushed weekly shop!) In truth, I was somewhat disappointed when I got home, opened up the box and discovered that the one I'd been sold had already been used, and didn't work (top tip - open the box in the shop to make sure you've got a brand new one, and not a return!), but a quick trip back to Technical Support and I was soon walking away with a brand new replacement. And even if it's not breakfast time anymore, and I've spent most of my Sunday in pursuit of my caffeine kick - as I write this review, I'm sitting drinking a perfectly delicious, freshly ground, freshly brewed, cup of coffee from my new Cuisinart - I find myself contented. 19 May 2013
bean to cup is the way to go. I choose this as my first bean to cup machine and can't find fault with it, its easy to use once you read the manual. Then its just a case of trying out all the different settings and finding whats best for you. At the time of purchase this seemed to be the best in its price range and I'm so pleased with it, I'm already saving for my next bean to cup machine. I bought direct in-store and find the staff as helpful as ever. 09 April 2013
Coffee maker Cuisinart Bought this coffee machine 5 years ago and it has been excellent until this week when water started to leak from underneath. Cannot repair, checked online and others have experienced this problem. Pity as it was very good at making coffee. 05 April 2013
