De'Longhi DES16E Compact Dehumidifier
Works as described
Took delivery after a long wait for new stock. As other reviews state, it will aid in drying clothes placed on an airer. I put mine in a small room, close the door and have the DES16E on the highest setting.
I don't think it is overly noisy - it needs to make some noise if you think about what it is doing.
The instructions warn about using it within 1 hour of moving, so take care there and it can leak a little water if moved.
Transporting and emptying the tank is easy. Overall, very pleased

This has been an absolute life saver in my flat.
We had a real problem with condensation - to the point where our walls were soaking wet and our clothes in our built-in wardrobe were damp.
I have been using it for about a month now and the condensation has not come back at all. We leave it on whilst at work and it is full every single day when I get back. It is very easy to empty, and on wheels so easy to move around the room.
I have it set to the smart function, so it decides the setting itself. Sometimes it goes into overdrive and can be a little bit noisy, but you get used to it in the back ground.
I am a light sleeper so couldn't sleep with it on, but leaving it on whilst out at work all day seems to be doing the trick.
would definitely recommend!

Good looking quite efficient the only concern is it is quite noisey on "continuous mode", Otherwise on automatic it is quieter,I wouldn't like to leave it on too long though, but then it probably doesn't get the chance to work to it.'s full potential .

WHAT A SHAME BUT JOHN LEWIS NOT TO BLAME!
So disappointed as it is very heavy to move around despite the wheels which do not work properly plus the lead is far too short to go into any mains socket and as advised in the instructions cannot use an extension lead plus vents should be centralised at the front for better effect.
Instead I'm going for pure and simple John Lewis Crystal Mini Moisture traps as JL themselves never let you down!
I think you are paying for the name DeLonghi rather than an effective product.

two faulty models in a row
I chose this model, based on the previous 4 positive reviews. The first one might have been OK, but one of the pins on the plug was misaligned, so I couldn't plug it in. In the olden days I'd simply have replaced the plug, but I had to return the whole thing. The second one seemed to work OK, but didn't collect any water. At all. Tried every setting, read entire handbook, even asked husband! We left it "on" all day, but in the evening - not a drop, despite reporting a humidity of 49%!
The tank is very awkward to remove, anyway, so have ordered a smaller, simpler model
