De'Longhi DNC65 Dehumidifier
Just what I hoped for
A great little dehumidifier. Slim, quiet when on low and it works well.

Does the job well
Works well, we have it in our spare room and use it to dry washing during the winter. I would say the washing drys in about a third less time, handy because there's nothing worse than musty smelling clothes! The water tray is a little bit stiff, but its really not a problem. We are very satisfied with ours :)

Had the previous model that we were very pleased with, however the design of drawer for emptying water at bottom has changed. Every time you pull out, water spills!

Worked well for about 8 months.
Drawer difficult to pull out and so causes spillages.
The whole emptying process is awkward & messy.

I live in a new build flat and have an issue with condensation and so chose this unit as it is quieter than others on the market. I leave it on minimum overnight and I've had no condensation since I've started using it. It is quiet and efficient - it's amazing how much water if collects. Of course, it makes the heating more effective too by drying out the air as well as blowing out warm air.
However, the water drawer is stiff and pulling it out usually results in water on the carpet. I've also found that the bung (for the hose pipe element) leaks as the pressure of the water slowly pushes it out. The hose pipe is far too short to be of any practical use (unless you stand it on top of the work surface next to the sink...). However, I'm sure I can find a DIY solution for the bung!

It seems to use about 7 units of electricity a day. We are surprised it does not cut out for long on the auto setting despite the humidity levels being around 45%. It is also noisy when running at full on the auto setting. We have noticed a damp patch on the carpet where it stands. Has not removed much water. It is being returned. Very disappointing.

I've been using this for a couple of months now on the landing between the bathroom and the back bedroom where we hang clothes out to dry. Usually run it on auto for a couple of hours a day after showers or hanging washing out as we don't have underlying damp issues.
Definitely makes a difference to mould levels in the bathroom and helps washing dry faster.
If you put it on min it is very quiet. Could easily sleep with it on in the next room. On anything higher than min it's not as quiet but somehow the noise it makes isn't annoying or intrusive.
The controls are easy to use and it's very neat and small.
My only quibble is how the drawer for the water tank doesn't pull out smoothly. You always have to pull hard which jerks it a bit. I make sure I empty it every day otherwise I think it might spill as you open the drawer. Also the drawer front doesn't sit exactly flush with the rest of the machine - a small annoyance.

Originally I had bought another well known brand of dehumidifier but had to return it twice to the manufacturer within hours of receiving it, the first the time was because the fan was making an awful noise and the second because it was leaking water. The DeLonghi model is far superior, less bulky, quiet and is pulling a lot of moisture. I bought it mainly to help clear condensation off the windows in the morning, I have noticed that this is considerably less than it used to be. Previously I literally had to mop up condensation off the windowsills. Would definately recommend this product.
