Q & As

De'Longhi EC155 Coffee Machine 3.1 5 8 8
Inconsistent I found this product incredibly inconsistent. Some days you got a decent coffee, other days, pale brown water. It is tricky to use and very small, with no room to fit a cup when making a cappuccino. The frother frequently didn't want to froth, and most of the time it only properly dispensed from one of the two nozzles. Plus the machine vibrates so much that your espresso cups gradually move off the tray! Frustrating overall - and I have since returned it. The team at my local John Lewis were really helpful and great in dealing with this return for me. 28 October 2014
Great product Great little machine v good milk frother nice size 21 August 2014
A huge disappointment The instruction booklet was unclear. There was little space to put a cup. The vibration of the machine makes the cup move about unless held constantly. After removing the cup and switching off, the coffee continues dripping. The frother is ok but needs getting used to - the arm is rather short. Continuing to use my favourite coffee that I have used for years, it is no longer as tasty. 04 August 2014
De'Longhi EC155 coffee machine We only drink black coffee and wanted a simple machine that could do just that. This is a small machine which does not take up much work space, which is perfect. However, on the dowside the coffee is not very hot and even though we put boiling water into the cups before making the coffee it is never very hot.. There is very little space to place cups underneath - just enough for 2 small cups. We had space for a small jug on our old machine which, for us, was better. The coffee tastes good but there isn't enough of it and it is not hot. Very disappointed 11 June 2014
A tale ot two machines My EC155 arrived yesterday. I had previously bought the earlier model of this machine, the EC152, also from John Lewis. It never missed a beat for two and a half years, making about 3,500 excellent double espressos. When it died I had no hesitation ordering the EC155, which I thought appeared to be the same machine with a couple of minor changes. (One of which should help those who want to use a larger cup or mug). Whether it is the same as its predecessor under the skin I can't say but, using the same (very high quality) coffee, the same grind and the same technique, try as I might I can't make a decent espresso with it. It isn't getting the flavour out of the coffee and the crema isn't creamy. Perhaps it is just the particular 155 I bought, because, even by the standards of the 152, it does make some extraordinary noises. I'm returning it and will probably try another make. 24 May 2014
Great machine for the money For the money, this is a great machine. As someone else said, why they could not make it to accept two full scoops of coffee is a mystery but we got into the habit of making one at a time. Unfortunately the machine gave up the ghost after three/four years of daily use. Despite it being such a good machine, we thought a Dualit would be much better. This was not the case. The coffee from the Dualit is not a patch on this one and it is far my complicated to heat up and clean. 10 January 2014
Excellent budget product Bought as a Christmas present; the recipients reported afterwards that they were very impressed by the quality of the coffee. 09 January 2014
Does what it says Basic espresso coffee using ground coffee or pods. Pretty simple to use though why they couldn't make the larger "pan" accept two whole scoops of coffee I have no idea. Early days but it works ok. Only a small espresso cups fit under the outlets which is frustrating. 29 October 2013
