De'Longhi ESAM6700 Prima Donna Bean-to-Cup Espresso Coffee Machine
I really like the coffees this machine produces but it is lukewarm coffee unfortunately. I sent it back for service and they claim that the temperature is correct for the expresso and the milk but they only measure it the temperature as it comes out of the machine and not when it hits the cup. It would have made sense to make sure that the coffee and milk is produced automatically at a much higher temperature to take into account that it will cool down by the time the drink hits the cup. So the only way to really get a hot latte is to use the manual steam function to heat the milk which defeats the purpose of having this machine.
To 'optimise' the temperature of the coffee, you would need to heat your cups with boiling water, let water run through the pipes and few times, wait about 10-15 minutes to make sure machine warms up properly etc which is a laboursome process when you need to get up and go... great shame, as the coffee tastes nice from bean to cup - if only they got the temperature settings right.

Terrible after service from DeLonghi
Bought this machine and it worked well for the first 18 months. Then it stopped working and it cannot be repaired. The aftersales service from DeLonghi has been terrible.

Bought this machine almost one year ago and its being nothing but trouble.
Broken down twice, takes ages to get it back and it still doesn't work.
Out of ten cups of coffee you may get two or possibly three that resemble what their supposed to.

Coffee as you want it
A well made machine that makes really good coffee. It allows you to choose from a number of standard coffee options to make different strengths and amounts of coffee from extra strong small cups through to extra mild full cups and points in between. The preset buttons make good cappuccino, cafe-latte, and latte macchiato, all you need to adjust is the milk frother to suit your choice of milk. The machine is easy to use with a good menu system, fairly simple to clean, and quick to refill with water, milk, and of course your personal choice in coffee beans. My daughter really likes the milk option which gives a full cup of hot frothy milk ideal for making hot chocolate! Overall, a good coffee machine with a good number of different coffee options, we like it.

Coffee maker really good
Its still early days and I am trying all sorts of combinations of coffee strengths lengths etc but the results have been good and i can support all the good comments on this and other websites. The taste is as good as the well know high street chains dispense.
It looks a bit daunting at first but a quick read of instruction book and then a few trial runs and you should be up and drinking!!
Expensive yes but if you like your coffee one to seriously consider and you will probably drink more than you used to at home so cost per cup soon comes down!! might be worth getting in some decaff beans which also taste good to stop the over stimulation!! or it could be sleepless nights

A great coffee maker, in my opinion
This machine has changed my relationship with coffee for ever - I now drink good coffee every day. The choice of coffee styles is impressive and there is one to suit every member of the family. Even the grandchildren are catered for with easily made 'babycinos' (cappuccino with no coffee) and hot chocolate.
Very easy to use, once you've mastered the various menus - well worth the initial input of time to make their acquaintance. It is very good at telling you when to fill with water or coffee beans, and when to descale. The descaling process is easy and doesn't take very long and cleaning the inside of the machine when required is very straightforward. Only small irritant is that the drip tray fills up rather quickly.
As with any coffee machine, making coffee for a large number of people takes too long, so I resort to a cafetiere.
