De'Longhi TCH8093ER Ceramic Tower Heater
Effective. Good value.
Easy to operate. Useful remote operation. Would be nice if the heater had a place where the remote could be attached. We used Velcro!
Glad I bought it. Quite inexpensive really, particularly when compared with the Dyson!
An effective heater. Useful 7 degree back up setting to avoid freezing when room(s) unattended.

Great but that darn tip over mechanism
I bought my first last month and it worked well until a small green blinking light came on. That was my first introduction to its tip over protection mechanism.
Anything I tried wouldn't get the thing to work so I got it replaced.
Now the second one is beginning to act up for the same reason so am on the brink of getting my money back - no third one.
Shame - 5 stars apart from that.

We bought this to replace our old DeLonghi oil filled radiator and we are very pleased with it. It heats out conservatory (which can get very cold) very quickly and we love the accurate temperature settings that are a feature of this heater. Have just bought a second one for our son - would strongly recommend this product.

Looks good but so disappointing. It's noisy even on its lowest setting... so loud in fact that I haven't moved it off its lowest setting.
But worst of all is the anti-tip protection. When I first switched it on it went straight into anti-tip and took several minutes for it to decide it's not about to topple over and start up.
A week later I decided to move the fan slightly as it was obstructing a drawer. Total disaster. The fan was stuck in anti-tip for 48 hours! Even after being left unplugged overnight. I dare not move it now in case I'm left without a heater for 48 hours again.
On the plus side it looks good and heats up the room quickly so if the anti-tip wasn't so poor I would actually recommend this heater. In fact, before the anti-tip debacle I recommended it to my parents. Theirs turned up without the screws to attach the base so also unusable.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with it and I think it's a good buy.
You have to assemble the base stand but that's relatively straightforward and the finished article looks quite attractive. Stands nice and steady. Plug it in, put the battery in the remote and away you go. Use the easy to operate remote and the fire works like a dream. Temperature range from 16c to 32c.. Manual says you can change the display from Celsius to Farhrenheit but following the instructions, I've not been able to do that whether using the remote or the controls on the fire itself. But that's nothing.
It will warm up a 4m x 3.5m room in about 10 - 15mins if you set the temperature gauge at 30c and put it on Heating Level 3, - using the full 2400w. The fan blows constantly, but is not particularly noisy and we watch TV with it on all the time. Reduce the temperature if you wish, 1 or 2 degrees at a time. If you drop from 30c to 20c the fan blows cold air to meet your request. The fire stops operating when it reaches the temperature on the display. It will come on again but it allows the temperature to drop considerably before it starts again. It does not cut out and back in again constantly to maintain the temperature on the display, - like I hoped it might. But judging by the reviews on similar fires, even those which are considerably more expensive, I'm not sure any of them do. I should mention the ECO plus function does seem to save energy. I've had the fire linked up to an Energy Usage Monitor and ECO plus cuts the energy use in half at times. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it and I think it's a good buy. And of course, buying it from John Lewis, you get 3 months to send it back if your not happy with it and a 2 year guarantee. You can't go wrong !

Very good heater
We are very pleased with this heater which we are using in a large kitchen. It is much quieter than we expected and the option that it rotates is useful in our space. The temperature thermostat works well and options to have a more powerful heat is useful when coming in from the cold.
Overall I would fully recommend this product.

Does the job
I was debating whether to splurge for the Dyson Hot or choose something which left me a few ££ better off and opted for this DeLonghi model.
I live in Edinburgh so the winter chill is just starting to bite and with high ceilings and a big bay window, the central heating just isn't enough but this heats up my living room a treat. It's a little on the noisy side but I heard the Dyson Hot in the shop and it sounded just as noisy if not more!
It's got a handy remote control and 3 heat settings, I've got it on low most of the time and it is really keeping my living room nice & warm. The swivel is fine so overall really pleased with the cost and most importantly, that it's warming up my living room.

Does the job
Bought this online after a short cold spell before I put the central heating on. Heats a large room well and has a number of additional functions, including three heat settings, fan (for the summer), thermostat and swing action, plus timer.
