De'Longhi TCH8093ER Ceramic Tower Heater
Would be a great product if it worked
As often as not, it just sits there with a green light flashing, indicating that the anti-tip mechanism has kicked in, which basically makes it useless. So frustrating to see John Lewis and De'Longhi continuing to sell this despite so many people reporting this fault. I've given up on it and will have to return it at the weekend for a refund.
Also, the molded buttons are infuriating. If I angle my thumb just right, they'll register a touch, but usually takes several goes. What's wrong with a normal physical button like on previous models?

Hugely temperamental product. I am sitting right next to it now, and it is refusing to go on despite the fact the room is freezing and the heater is on a flat surface. I have done a bit of internet searching, and it seems this is a common problem with this product - many of these heaters have a thermostat glitch which means they will not let you switch it on. Do not buy, there are a ton of other heating products out there which do work.
John Lewis, you should remove this from your product list - one of the things I love about you is that you don't stock dud products in the first place! Just annoyed that I need to return it now, after I'd got rid of all the packaging and everything.

When it works properly this is a tremendous little heater – throws out much more heat than I ever expected and looks good. BUT most of the time it does not work properly. I have had to return two already with the same fault that seems to be very common from the reviews I have now read – the heater repeatedly cuts off for no apparent reason and the tip over signal is displayed even though the heater is stood perfectly upright and has not been moved.
I now have a third one, from a different stock, with yet exactly the same problem. The only temporary remedy is to unplug it then turn it back on and hope that it will work again. Most of the time it doesn’t, sometimes it does.
Delonghi have offered to repair it. To do so they ask for the heater to be securely packaged, that somebody is available from 9am – 5pm for it to be collected from, need time for it to be repaired and that somebody is again available to return it to. The heater is less than one month old for heaven’s sake. I asked them to simply send me a fully functioning replacement and they could collect the old heater at the same time. --- Not Delonghi policy I am reliably informed!!! – Only repairs – it’s less than a month old!!!!
I would recommend this heater if it functioned correctly but it doesn’t – too many reviews each identifying the same problem. Delonghi are obviously aware of this but continue to sell it in its defective state – I’ve now had three, two as replacements and I’m aware of somebody else who bought one from a different source yet with exactly the same problem. Beware!

Good....when it works
Bought this to heat up my conservatory and for first few days seemed to work fine. It kicked out a decent amount of heat and the fan, although slightly noisy on the higher settings, is not overly loud.
The problem started with the anti-tip cut off which started tripping after a few days and randomly switched off the heater even though it was standing on a flat wooden floor. Sometimes it would turn off then come back on almost immediately but at other times would be 30-40 mins before it would work again.
Have sent back to JL and currently awaiting a replacement, although I have a suspicion that the new one will just do the same thing as I have read quite a few similar comments about this product so sounds like it is quite a common fault. Not sure why the manufacturer hasnt fixed this obvious fault! If I do get another faulty one will just ask for a refund.

Exactly as expected
Good product, little remote is handy and overall it's good value for the money. Wanted a stylish fan heater, and only just restrained myself from spending an additional 300 pounds on the more stylish competitor product. Glad I didn't as this does the job well, and looks good.

Effective. Good value.
Easy to operate. Useful remote operation. Would be nice if the heater had a place where the remote could be attached. We used Velcro!
Glad I bought it. Quite inexpensive really, particularly when compared with the Dyson!
An effective heater. Useful 7 degree back up setting to avoid freezing when room(s) unattended.

Great but that darn tip over mechanism
I bought my first last month and it worked well until a small green blinking light came on. That was my first introduction to its tip over protection mechanism.
Anything I tried wouldn't get the thing to work so I got it replaced.
Now the second one is beginning to act up for the same reason so am on the brink of getting my money back - no third one.
Shame - 5 stars apart from that.

We bought this to replace our old DeLonghi oil filled radiator and we are very pleased with it. It heats out conservatory (which can get very cold) very quickly and we love the accurate temperature settings that are a feature of this heater. Have just bought a second one for our son - would strongly recommend this product.
