Decorating inspiration

Specialising in ceramics and cutlery, Robin graduated from the Royal College of Art, and in 1995 was awarded Royal Designer for Industry.

Robin graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1976, and in 1995 was awarded the accolade Royal Designer for Industry in recognition of sustained excellence as a designer. In 2009, he became Master of the Faculty of Royal Designers.

Robin worked with the leading design partnership Queensberry Hunt for more than 20 years, before setting up Studio Levien with his wife Tricia Stainton in 1999.

Recognised as one of the most consistently successful designers in the homewares field, Robin believes that classic designs have an "enduring quality". His aim is to create functional, affordable and beautiful products that are a joy to live with.
