Bought this for elderly mother prone to chest infections and fevers following doc's advice that feather/down duvets cause overheating problems. Since then she's been toasty warm but without the sweats. I'd also recommend this for those women of a certain age suffering hot flushes - I use blankets for that reason but will probably buy this duvet for myself when the cold weather is here as it's lighter than blankets. Smell is pleasant and disappears in a few days anyway. And (NB John Lewis) I was SO pleased to buy a British product.

This duvet appears very well made and suited for moderately warm summer nights. Where we live, the bedroom temperature tends to be about 24-25C at night, but one does need some cover and a sheet is not enough (especially if air conditioning kicks in). I chose wool filling over down as I think the very light down duvets lack the volume of filling material to maintain an even covering. I would say the wool duvet is a little warm for this environment (otherwise 5 stars), but very comfortable if one doesn't bury oneself under it! I would certainly buy it again. Wool is completely natural, sustainable and good for allergy sufferers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Green19 Excellent duvet for a good night's sleep
Bought a superking size for our kingsize bed as hubby has not been well and needed extra coverage for his left side which goes from extremely cold to waves of heat - the Devon Duvet is just perfect. He had trouble sleeping and since using the Devon Duvet he has managed at least 5 hours good sleep a night. This duvet has improved our quality of life as we are sleeping well. It is light, warm and so soft. I was concerned about other reviews so phoned the company and can confirm that its does not smell; it does not crunch. Extremely pleased with this duvet would highly recommend.

Sorry to rain on the parade but I find this duvet hot, even though I bought the lighter version. It also makes me feel trapped as I find it strangely heavy as well. I do admittedly get warm at night, hence buying the lighter of the two duvets - I thought it would be good as it is supposed to regulate the body temperature. I do not have the heating on at any time in my bedroom and still I find this duvet too much.

Love this duvet! I get too hot in bed and my husband has to shiver under a thin duvet. He's been warm with this new duvet and although I've woken up warm, I've not been my usual sweaty betty. We've bought the light weight one and I'll see how we get in as it gets colder. The description suggests you could buy a light and a medium weight duvet and combine them. If it does get too cold I might try two light weights as I think the medium weight one might be too warm. The duvet comes with ties already attached which is a nice touch. It drapes beautifully around your body meaning no cold drafts.
Like other reviewers I have noticed a slight smell but it is not unpleasant and has not bothered our cats.
It also has the added bonus of being machine washable.
After watching Terry the Texel sheep at the Sheep Show, it's great to be able to buy a natural product that supports British Wool.

Since buying the devon lightweight duvet my sleep has improved immeasurably, the duvet suits both my husband (who tends to feel the cold) and myself ( who tends to overheat). The duvet is very light but also warm and settles around the body in a reassuring and cosy manner. In short, I love it and wish I'd bought one years ago.

This duvet spreads very evenly and doesn't bunch up like a feather duvet. However, I would disagree that this is between a 4 - 7 tog as it compares more to a 10 tog in my opinion. It might be good for the colder months I'm hoping, but it's definitely too hot for the summer months which is why I've scored it a two star 'Fair' rating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fiona2014 This wool duvet is great at regulating temperature!
Because both of us have different body thermostats (I am always overheating at night and end up throwing off the duvet - while he is always freezing and piles on extra blankets) I was initially looking for a dual tog duvet. In researching these items, I came across wool duvets and was interested to learn that wool has a quality that satisfies hot and cold people at the same time. So I took the plunge and bought one.
Hand on heart I can't say I don't still get hot, because I do occasionally, but not like before and my partner doesn't need blankets. The warmth is even and I don't get sweaty (sorry about that) so I am very pleased with my purchase. The other think I like about this duvet is that it is natural and its possible to wash it. Also you don't have to shake it to even up the filling. The test will be the winter as we have a summer weight duvet…..
