Dimplex Fuel-Effect Fire, Cheriton CHT20
Attractive and effective fire
The Cheriton fuel-effect fire is everything we hoped it would be and more. It is attractive both when in use and not in use, and enhances the appearance of the lounge. The fuel effect is outstandingly good, and it is a very efficient fan heater. It has been admired by everyone who has visited since it arrived. It was bought in August so we have not yet benefitted from its heat during winter, but are confident that it will meet our needs as it has both 1kw. and 2kw. options. An added bonus is that the fuel effect can be used on its own to brighten the lounge on dull days evev when heat is not nrequired.

very noisy fan, poor.
I am delighted with this product overall, one thing lets it down big time, the fan heater is unbearably noisy, so much so I will only use this fire for effect, very disappointed

Living room focal point : fuel-effect electric fire
So far we are pleased with our new fire to complement the central heating in our living room. Flame effect very good. Previously had gas fires but hopefully electric stand alone will be less trouble and cheaper to maintain. Very prompt delivery - faster than indicated. Would recommend.

As good as it looks
We were attracted to this fire because it looked nice and the colours were perfect to fit in with our colour scheme, eg firelace, carpet, curtains and the cream leather 3-piece suite.
However it is not only pleasing in appearance, it is also a very efficient fan heater and if you don't need the fire on, you can just have the display which is very realistic and looks like a coal fire so you actually feel warm just looking at it. Lovely!

Disappointed with brass effect grate
The overall product is good but here is bubbling on each corner of the grate which frankly spoils its overall look. I did return the first fire thinking this was a defect but the replacement one is the same.

Good looking fire and the realistic flame effect is cheering on winter nights. The only problem I encountered was replacing the bulbs. They failed after only a few months of evening use and were really awkward to replace as you have to remove all the coals, unscrew the frontage and remove the flame effect rotisserie. The rotisserie was near impossible to get out. The instructions say 'gently slide the rubber sleeve to disconnect it from the motor'. Well it wouldn't budge.
If the bulbs could be accessed from the back or even from under the fire it would be a far easier task.

Cheriton Free Standing Electirc Fire
We purchased this to replace our gas fire that died. it is a lovely looking free standing easy to install fire. The coals which you put on and arrange yourself are real coals, so I would advise wearing gloves as the coals are quite dirty. The fire affect is lovely, but I am struggling with the noise from the fan. My husband can block the noise out but I can't, so unless this improves we will have to give up using the heating element on this model which actually defeats the object of buying it. If you are able to block out the noise of the fan then I think you will be very pleased with the Cheriton overall. It looks nice and the flame effect is the best I have seen on an electric fire,

We had our gas fire removed and decided on a cosy electric fire. The Dimblex Fuel effect cheriton fits the our needs perfectly. Its homely and the flame and coals are very realistic. Our lounge is quite large (23'x20') so it takes some time to warm up even on the 2kw setting. It fits nicely on the hearth and looks very much like our old gas fire.
