The Dimplex Holwell is a fully-assembled, maple-effect surround, complete with black back panel and hearth. It’s suitable for use with all Dimplex Optiflame 16” and 18” inset electric fires. As the Holwell is freestanding, all you need is a flat wall and a power point for the fire.

Simple with just the right amount of detail We were really pleased with this when it arrived. The wood surround, while being unfussy and hence perfect for a modern home, has some really lovely subtle detail that doesn't really show in the photo. The mantelpiece is slightly curved and has a tiered edge, rather than being just a solid block. And there are slight insets on the all the edges, that add depth without compromising the simplicity of the design. It's also the perfect height for leaning on! The wood colour is true to the photo and the construction is solid. Has set our room off beautifully. The black insert is also made of wood (the description doesn't state what it's made of), which means you cannot use it with a gas fire. The finish is more matt than it appears in the photo, but it still still works. Overall very good value purchase. 06 July 2011
