Don't Buy The Dualit Coffee Perc' !!!
It looked Great & it worked well for the 1st 3 years, then the plastic ball on top of the lid snapped off when I tried to remove the lid to make coffee one morning! I'm now on my 3rd replacement lid I've had to buy on line! The plastic ball on top of the lid is the weak part of the design, the design flaw; My friend's TEFAL perc' has been having the same problem as well! I'm going to use it until THIS (3rd) lid breaks (and it WILL!) Then I'm going to put it in a recycle bin for electrical goods. I'll buy a supermarket brand, stainless steel caffatier (never could spell that) as my Sister's been using the same one for years and has never had any trouble with it... I expect much better from Dualit! I will never buy their products again.......

Fantastic product, good, hot coffee, easy to use and clean. Why oh why did we all get rid of our stove top percolators? I've used a filter machine for years it's awkward to clean and needs far more coffee to get the same strength and my cafetiere doesn't keep the coffee HOT. Experiment to get the best strength for you (just as you would with any new coffee machine) and switch it off after use9 ok so there's no auto switch off BUT there IS a light to show you it's still on!)
All in all brilliant, would recommend to any one

Hot coffee !
We bought this as a Christmas present to ourselves and have been very impressed.
We have had number of filter coffee machines over the years but have never found the coffee to be hot enough. With our last one, we had to pre-heat the jug before starting the brewing the process, and also pre-heat the milk before adding to the coffee.
We considered buying one of the many espresso style machines we saw in John Lewis, but they seem to have two major drawbacks.... firstly, most of them tie you in to buying cartridges or capsules of coffee, which works out quite expensive when you require one for each cup. Secondly, if we have say, six people wanting coffee, someone has to stand in front of the machine and make six individual cups ( or three lots of two cups if you buy a two cup model), probably mening that the first cup was going cold while making the others.
With this Dualit, you simply fill with water to the mark, fill the filter compartment with the required amount of coffee, then walk away. In about ten minutes the light on the front turns from orange to green to show the coffee is ready. When you pour it out it is piping hot. If you don't want to pour it immediately it keeps warm for as long as you leave it switched on. If someone wants a second cup of coffee when they've finished their first it's ready and waiting.
It is not fiddly to prepare as some have stated. Nor is it difficult to clean. One user said they need steel wool to clean it; well I don't know what they are doing wrong, but all I do is rinse it in soapy water and rub my finger round any stubborn bits, it's very easy.
Two things to be aware of: there is no on/off switch on the device, so you have to turn it off at the wall switch, but there is a bright warning light on both sides of it, so it's unlikely that you'll leave it turned on. Also, the photo seems to show a level indicator on the outside. There isn't one. Levels are etched on the inside.

I LOVE it!
My husband and I love this percolator. It was bought for us for Christmas to replace a very old percolator of a similar type that finally ceased working.
This item looks very nice on my worktop. It does not take up much room, and I love that it is cordless.
It is easy to clean too, just requiring a rinse after each use. I have not noticed that the holes in the basket get clogged with coffee grounds at all, and I am using reground as well as freshly home-ground coffee.
From switching the percolator on, it is not long till it starts to bubble and the aroma of coffee fills the air. Whilst brewing the indicator light remains orange. Once brewed it goes green.
Now to the important bit: the coffee it makes it WONDERFUL! Depending on the coffee I am using, it takes a bit of practice working out how much coffee and water to use, but this is a personal choice issue. There are indications on the inside of both the pot, and coffee basket to help with this though.
The thing I LOVE also it that once the indicator goes green, it simply keeps the coffee hot. Unlike my previous percolator, this does not continue to re-brew it, which at the end of the morning resulted in a burnt and unpleasant tasting drink.
Best buy! I am SO delighted with it.
If I was going to criticise something, it would be that there is no level indicator on the outside of the pot to show how much coffee is left inside.
Overall though, I highly recommend this item!
