Dualit Architect Kettle
Mind the top it's very hot
I will start with the negatives! The lid is made of metal and so gets boiling hot and there is a very small bit of plastic on the lid that you are supposed to press if you need to close the lid. If you don't push this small piece of plastic you will burn your fingers. You have been warned! I would agree with the other reviewers who mentioned it is a very loud kettle when boiling and it shakes on boiling.
On the plus side I do like the look of it as an object and its silver gleams. Spout pours well. It is a focal point in the kitchen and has a quality feel to it.

Stylish but not perfect.
I've had this kettle for 11 months. To be frank I bought it for it's looks and it is the style which gets the 4 stars. It's very stylish but not perfect.
The finish is very good and easy to clean. None of the plastic trim shows any sign of discoloration.
Unlike some other kettles I've had in the past this gives a clean pour with no dripping. However, the pour is not perfect because after you stop pouring and start to return the kettle to the vertical position it drips a small amount of water.
The real down side of this kettle is the noise. It is by far the loudest kettle I have ever heard - it is not possible to have a conversation whilst it's boiling.
The pop up lid has now started to stick in the closed position. This is usually when there is some water which has cooled but not quite reached room temperature. Time will tell whether this is a developing fault.
My previous kettle was plastic had a 3000W element. This has a 2300W element and is slower to boil.
Being metal the outside does get hotter than a plastic kettle and the water cools down quite quickly - my guess this is quite normal and to be expected. On the plus side the metal body means you don't get that disgusting taste that you get during the first few weeks with a plastic kettle.

Lovely to look at but!
Really loved the look of this kettle and bought the changeable trim but just can't believe how noisy it is!
We had a previous Dualit which was fairly noisy but this
blocks out the sound on our television and can be heard at other end of the house!
So disappointed as my husband threw the box away and I don't think we can return it!

Form over function
Beautiful and stylish looking kettle, but has some functional flaws.
It boils slowly and the sides get very hot, unlike plastic walled kettles. It also cools quickly, so don't get distracted, the water seems to be tepid very rapidly.
At this price I would expect style and function

Delighted with the kettle, a bit noisy. Big issue for me are the drips that are emitted when you stop pouring. Water seems to collect between inner plastic spout and outer metal spout tube and runs out when returning kettle to upright position.

Good kettle but ...
The only drawback is the water gauge. When you fill the kettle your hand obscures the gauge and you can only see it clearly once the kettle has been switched on and it lights up.

I am so pleased with this kettle, I love the design it is so clever. When you pour it doesn't drip down the front as do most kettles so no horrible drips or marks left to wipe up.
It looks so good too well worth the money, would recommend this kettle for any kitchen for instant style!

A good quality product
Boils well for tea-making but noisier than expected. A good pourer.
