Dualit Burr Coffee Grinder

Product information

The specially designed Dualit burr coffee grinder produces consistently ground coffee, while preserving the maximum aroma of the bean. This works thanks to its conical shape, that spins more slowly than other types of coffee grinders to minimise clogging and produce less heat.

Key features:

  • A generous 250g hopper holds enough beans to grind up to 35 portions with no need to refill
  • The conical burr grinder is supported by a powerful motor and gear reduction, allowing for a slower, cooler grind
  • Portion control lets you grind only what you require each time, with the convenient dosing selector
  • Ten grind settings ensure all your needs are met, whether you want your coffee coarse (for percolators and cafetieres), medium (for filter machines) or fine (for espresso makers)
  • Removable burrs allow for completely effortless cleaning

Q & As

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 37 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality product Grind is good for cafetiere coffee and espresso and quantity ground is variable. The ability to grind one cup rather than the minimum two would be an improvement and it is very noisy. Frightens the cats! 29 April 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by makes good coffee Makes more mellow coffee than our old Krups grinder (which lasted only a couple of years before the button collapsed). Settings not easy to see and the range from fine-coars seems more limited -but suits us. The process creates more mess than the old grinder, but it does make better coffee.. 26 January 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hated it every time I used it The beans keep getting stuck during the grinding process, meaning that the amount of coffee ground is different each time. You have to gently shake and tap the machine whilst it grinds, to encourage the beans to fall into the grinder. This appears to be a design fault, as the Cuisinart grinder I had before ground perfectly( although the motor stopped working after 4 weeks). Also, there is a lot of static with the Dualit- when you remove the container of ground coffee, it flies and spills everywhere. Every time I made a pot of coffee I had to clean myself and the kitchen. I wanted to like this but I hated it - returned it to John Lewis today and my husband paid an extra £100 for a Sage Pro - here's hoping. 25 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved Christmas Present I bought this as a Christmas present for my Dad and he loves it! I've given it five stars because it's easy to use, it is well designed, nice to look at and it sits neatly on the counter - unlike some of the other versions I have seen that appear a little clunky! The coffee grounds appear to be even and the right coarseness for filter coffee and a french press. Haven't tried any other settings yet so can't comment! Freshly ground coffee makes all the difference! 15 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb after shoes service by John Lewis Excellent coffee grinder but the first one broke within the guarantee period. The replacement service by John Lewis was absolutely superb. The new one is excellent again. 18 December 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing I had the earlier model of this grinder which served me well for many years. I was slightly nervous about buying this version because of some reviews that said it didn't grind finely enough for espresso. Unfortunately this was the case with the model I received. John Lewis dealt with this perfectly refunding my money. In the end I bought a Graef CM 800, which I love. 15 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Evenly ground coffee Very pleasing results with very evenly ground coffee, which released loads more flavour than I had with my old grinder. Perhaps a little fine on the coarsest setting? Otherwise, it being just a little bulky would be my only adverse comment/ 17 November 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Irritating Works very well. Solid and well made. But! Turning it upside down to empty loose beans and grounds is messy and bad design. Refitting the hopper can be a nightmare but I learnt the trick from Dualit which is not in the instructions. 27 October 2015
