I have to admit I was very doubtful about spending this much on a kettle, but I am so pleased I did. The main attraction was the capacity, my husband takes a flask to work, and we found with our old kettle we were boiling it twice to fill the flask. So my husband decided a larger kettle was the answer. This one fits the bill nicely. With the added bonus that you can boil enough for a couple of cups! It's quick, even when full, it's quiet, the old kettle was quite noisy. Plus it looks good!

I bought this to replace my identical design trusty old Dualit 1.7 L kettle (after a visitor from Mongolia put it on the cooker to boil it).
Only once on the page does it say this one holds 2 Litre (unlike the 1 L version).
The instructions helpfully suggest only boiling enough water for your needs to save energy - good advice which I follow anyway.
Unfortunately the 2 L capacity means you'd probably have to do gymnastics to get your 2 cupfuls out!

Looks beautiful, is quiet, has a filter and a cut out for when your husband puts it on without water! Worth the money. Recommended by my mother!

Having had a Dualit Toaster for 16 yrs and counting, thought it was about time to have a matching kettle - looks fab, boils very quickly and so quiet!

This kettle looks amazing, (for a kettle), works well (while it's working) and is a Which? Best Buy. However, what none of the reviews (including Which?'s) mentions is that the elements of Dualit kettles are not replaceable. All models (Dome and Jug are in this identical) are sealed units. If the element goes wrong less than a year after you bought it, (not the world's most generous guarantee for a mere kettle costing £70) Dualit will replace it. If it's less than two and bought from John Lewis, then it's still covered under the JPL guarantee. If it goes wrong after that, then you throw the whole thing out. Ours blew up with a bang and impressive sparks, tripping all our electrical circuits then and every time it was switched on subsequently, after less than five years use. That makes it a pretty expensive disposable, and extraordinarily wasteful of the raw materials and energy that go into making it. Incidentally, John Lewis used to sell these with its own five year guarantee. It doesn't any more, which rather implies that it was finding five years too expensive to honour. One could, by comparison, buy a Best Buy Russell Hobbs every 12-18 months for about the same cost, and the last one of those I had lasted 20 years......

Rated 5 out of 5 by EileenDover So far so good!
We decided it was worth splashing out a bit extra on a quality product, we have a Dualit toaster too, and we haven't been disappointed so far.
Feels solid, boils quickly and quietly, and the larger capacity is handy for our giant mugs!
