Dyson DC25 Multi Floor Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Product information

The Dyson DC25 Multi Floor is a full-size Dyson Ball™ vacuum cleaner engineered for high dust and dirt removal across every floor type.

Unlike ordinary upright vacuum cleaners, which have fixed wheels the DC25 Multi Floor rides on a ball. The ball pivots on itself, so you can steer around furniture and obstacles with a turn of the wrist.

DC25 Multi Floor has a motorised brush bar with stiff nylon bristles that spin up to 90 times per second to dislodge ground-in dirt from carpets. You can turn the brush bar off to protect delicate rugs and hard floors.

Like all Dyson vacuums, the DC25 Multi Floor has Root Cyclone™ technology, so it doesn’t lose suction. There’s also a washable HEPA filter – ideal for allergy sufferers. Because there are no bags or filters to replace, there are no extra costs. DC25 Multi Floor also has a 5 year guarantee covering parts and labour.

Key Features:
  • Root Cyclone™ technology – captures more dirt and microscopic dust than other cyclones. Ball™ technology steers smoothly with a turn of the wrist – no more back and forth, back and forth.
  • Motorised brush bar removes ground-in dirt from carpets. Turns off to protect delicate rugs and hard floors.
  • Quick-draw Telescope Reach™ wand for high-reach cleaning.
  • Washable HEPA filter for cleaner expelled air.
  • British Allergy Foundation approval – ideal for allergy sufferers.
  • 5 year guarantee – parts and labour are covered.

Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Best one I've ever had. Light and easy to use. Very efficient 16 July 2014
Dyson DC25 - Overall an excellent vacuum cleaner! I bought this DC25 to replace a Dyson bought in 2004. If this Dyson lasts for 10 years I will be very pleased! Overall I'd describe the DC25 as an excellent vacuum cleaner, it is very powerful, much more so than my old Dyson. However - it is noisier thanks to the powered brush head and has a smaller capacity. I'm not convinced on the need for a ball as the ball still only goes backwards and forwards and so offers no greater maneuverability in my view. The stand flicks up and juts out from the back, making the vacuuming of small areas like the mini-landing on the stairs more awkward. The attachments seem flimsier than those on my old Dyson but they do click securely into place rather than simply being pushed on. Suction through the extending tube is excellent. Finally, with regard to the filter - yes you only need to wash the main filter once every 6 months or so but the small holes on the vacuum unit inside the dust collector still block and need to be brushed out on a regular basis to maintain suction. In other words, Dyson has swapped one problem (the filter) for another. Overall a great vacuum cleaner at a good price with quick delivery. 15 July 2014
Flexible vacuum cleaner Does what the marketing says. Works really well for us in a 3 storey town house. 08 July 2014
Dyson's are best Really good vacuum which does exactly what you want it to. Tools are easily accessible and stretch a long way. 08 July 2014
Good vacuum action, poor build quality and some irritating design features Brought online from John Lewis two years ago as a replacement for a Dyson model. It vacuums well, but it comes with some irritating design faults and some fragile plastic components. The power lead is not a as long as with their previous machine, so when you are vacuuming at a distance the power goes off as the plug pulls away from the socket. The bracket which recticulates the cleaner body from upright position to angled is made of plastic and can and does get stuck. It's not really up to the job. It's happened on numerous occasions now, whereby the plastic pin securing the arm has sheared off. This means the machine cannot now be returned to the upright position. It dangles helplessly and I have to prop it up against a wall. Previously I would not have looked beyond a Dyson product as a replacement. Next time I will be considering other manufacturuers.. 04 July 2014
Happy but with reservations Firstly the service from John Lewis was excellent - purchased online on Saturday, delivered Tuesday morning. My first problem was unpacking - used 2 knives and a pair of scissors, plus broke 3 of my nails! Next I had to put it together, the instruction manual contains just diagrams which are not particularly clear (at one point I was trying to connect something upside down!). The suction is excellent and I found moving the machine around fairly easy. There is a problem with trying to use it in a confined space such as a bathroom or cloakroom. The hose is very stiff so using the high reach wand can be difficult, for this reason I have not used it on stairs preferring to use a small hand held vacuum. 03 July 2014
good replacement hoover We bought this hoover as a replacement for our 9 year old DC14 (the motor blew and given the good discount price on the DC 25 we decided to buy new rather than repair). It wasn't love at first sight as with the DC14 but this hoover is growing on me every time I use it. Main complaints are: 1) the cable and hose are shorter than on the DC 14 and because the hoover is lighter it tends to fall over or pull into the back of me if I tug when I'm doing the stairs. 2) The dust bucket is smaller so needs emptying more often (although this will probably mean we won't end up blowing the motor as it forces you not to be lazy and let it get too full) 3) it has 2 filters that need regular cleaning (every 1 month the top one and every 3 months the bottom one) 4) it doesn't feel as solid and as robust as the DC 14 However it is much lighter and quieter and smaller. The ball mechanism takes some getting used to but works well (the hoover tends to be weighted differently so ends up being a little short - Mr Dyson an extra 3 inches on the handle would make it more comfortable for those of us over 5ft10 as it would stop us from stooping or slouching when hoovering) The wand tool is nifty and locks well but you do have to remove it to go back to upright mode rather than being able to just tip the hoover back and carry on hoovering. Our floors are clean (no problems at edges like other reviewers) and carrying the DC25 up the stairs is significantly easier. My husband hated the Dc14 because it was so loud and heavy but he will actually get the DC25 out to clean up after himself so it looks like the DC 25 strikes a happy compromise for us. 19 June 2014
Dyson DC 25 vacuum cleaner Powerful machine, but heavy to push, certainly takes getting used to, hopefully will be able to master it soon. Slight problem in sorting out extracting the hose, happily now solved. 10 June 2014
