I wish I'd read the reviews!
I let my husband choose the chair as he was adamant he wanted a wooden one not a plastic one and I didn't mind. I wish I'd read the reviews and vetoed this! All the reviews about slipping are spot on, my little one also seems to slip sideways. If we set the straps at the tightest to avoid it then he cries as he is to squeezed, but if we loosen them he slips and even bangs his head against the wooden panel behind him (he is on 99 centile for hight so definitely not a small baby!). I'm not sure if I can return the chair but so wish I'd bought a plastic one that fits better and is more comfortable, meal times were going great when I had him on my lap but are now a struggle. :-(

Fantastic High chair!
We were bought this high-chair from my mother-in-law and i have just assembled it this week as little one is now 5 months and enjoys eating some fruit with us at tea time. All I can say is that he absolutely loves being in this chair! I found it very easy to assemble and very easy to pop him in and strap him securely (on my own). He loves being in there, even if its just whilst I'm cooking tea! I do however have the insert for this chair so slipping and sliding is not a issue at all. Very sturdy and looks great in my kitchen.

Very useful and neat looking product
I have purchased several of these highchairs for use in our restaurant as they look nice (not too loud!) and are hard wearing and easy to clean.
John Lewis delivery was very quick and efficient.

Great chair
Nearly didn't get this due to some of the not so great reviews on here, but I saw it in the store and it looked so lovely that I took a chance. It really is a great chair, super simple to assemble and yet very solid and sturdy. Sure my 6 month old slips around a bit but then it is smooth wood and he is tiny. Some blankets tucked around him have sorted that out but you could always buy the insert. The harness comes set quite small but looks like it would adjust to a good size.

East Coast Folding Wood Highchair
I bought this highchair for my Grandchild because it was wooden and looked stylish. I have used it twice but unfortunately it has proved to be a very bad buy. The safety harness is very difficult to get onto a little child as the straps seem to be peculiar lengths and as there is no bar between the childs legs they are at risk of sliding down onto the floor as you struggle with the harness. It really is a two man job. The highchair is particularly slippery which doesn't help the situation. It is a shame as the highchair is easy to clean and certainly looks nice enough to leave out in a room. I could not recommend this highchair as I feel it has safety issues and I will be contacting customer services about it. I have had to buy another highchair.

A nice, inexpensive option but...
The highchair is sturdy and the wood is nice and easily cleaned. It is also compact and can be folded and looks nice in the kitchen. However, the straps are quite thin and fiddly and a challege to affix with a squirming baby.
