Very comfortable We purchased this bedstead to replace an existing one and we have continued to use our memory foam mattress. For some reason, which we don't understand, we find the new Ercol to be far more comfortable than our old base. It is very good quality and matches our beech effect fitted furniture very well. Assembly was fairly easy, although they are being a bit optimistic to say it will take 20 mins to assemble. 17 December 2012

Beautiful bed! This is a really stylish piece of furniture and I am very pleased with my purchase. As expected John Lewis provided a faultless service. My only slightly negative comment would be that the colour of the bed is much lighter than the picture suggests. This does not, however, detract from its appeal. 02 December 2012

Stunning mid-century design I've been looking at this bed for the last six months and having finally moved house the first thing I did was order it. The bed is stunning and is fits my love of mid-century design. As you'd expect it's incredibly sturdy and well-made and putting the bed together was simple. As a previous review mentioned the wood is lighter than in the images, so I would definitely recommend viewing in store if you get the chance. 21 November 2012

Beautiful & Timeless We took a leap of faith and bought this bed without actually seeing it other than online. We're very pleased that we did. The wood appears much lighter than it does on the screen, which is beautiful. It is such a stunning piece of furniture which blends perfectly with other furniture old and new alike.
