We are a small B&B and this is our 2nd steam press, it works great on all our bedding. It cuts down the ironing time which is a great bonus!

I bought this to tackle large sheets, so I was pleased to read that it would deal with all my ironing. Unfortunately this proved wrong. I can iron a shirt in 3.5 minutes with an iron, and a year's practice with the press showed that I'm never going to get near that time with it. It is inferior to an iron wherever you use the forward motion of the iron to straighten the fabric ahead of it. This includes shirts and surprisingly the borders of Oxford pillowcases, which it makes a mess of.
Another down side is the weight, I wish I had bought the dry version, which would have been lighter. Two more niggles are the lack of any indicator of the water remaining in the reservoir (what happens if it dries out?) and steam spray is very uneven.
A reviewer of the dry model suggested you could use it while watching TV. This would be dangerous - it requires constant careful attention in use as it is easy to get a very nasty burn from the hot plate.
But there are pluses. Most importantly it does what I bought it for - sheets, faster than an iron. I could wish it a bit wider, to take more width of sheet at a time, although of course this would increase the weight. It is good with most flat things, and is surprisingly good with trousers, a bonus I did not expect. I'm glad I bought it, but I wish I'd chosen the dry version.

Hasn't worked since day one. Followed all of the instructions and tried several times to use it. On the steam setting, steam and water spurt out only from the left-hand side of the heating plate. Seems well enough constructed, but where's the quality control when it has a major fault like this. Not sure if I'll ask for a replacement or a refund.

Purchased this a year ago, the first one lasted a matter of weeks before giving up, replaced by John Lewis with no hassle at all - excellent.
The replacement has now stopped working, not heating up, exactly the same as the first one and guess what, 2 weeks outside the one year warranty!
The fact there was no extended warranty available should have given it away!

I am delighted with my Fast-press steam iron, and wish I had bought it before. My ironing is finished in less time than before, and is very much easier to do. I will recommend it to all my friends who, I know, will want one. Thanks to John Lewis on line for presenting the Fast-press steam iron.

Fastpress Steam Press
Finally, Ironing is no longer such a chore! The Fast press steam press is so easy to use, heats up quickly and makes ironing large items like bed sheets seem effortless. It goes through several layers of fabric at once meaning there is no need to turn garments over, it’s an essential for people who have a B&B or just like to get the ironing done quickly!
Plus, it has dummy proof features such as a beeper inside to prevent overheating and several heat settings for various fabrics. A big advantage is that the press, unlike an ordinary iron does not require an ironing board, it can balance on any flat surface. It is simple to use and similar to a steam iron, you simply fill it with water and let it work its magic, allowing you to do much more important things (watch t.v!) while you use it. Watch that pile of ironing vanish!
