Fitbit Flex is the ideal way to track your activity without imposing on your lifestyle. Just strap it to your wrist and leave it there, through day and night and then sync it with your smartphone or computer to see how active you are.

Flex tracks a number of activites to help you evaluate your lifestyle:

  • Steps taken
  • Distance travelled
  • Calories burned
  • Active minutes
  • Hours slept
  • Quality of sleep

Flex measures your sleep and will tell you how long you slept and how many times you woke up, giving you a sleep quality score. Flex can also wake you up in the morning with a silent alarm that won't bother your partner.

You can use the app so set personal goals and then track them as you go by looking at the LED lights on the wristband. You can also sync your stats in real time to see a more in depth breakdown on select iPhones, Android devices and computers.

As well as tracking your activity and allowing you to set goals, the app will also allow you to log food, workouts and more. Fitbit will arrange the data in easy to follow graphs and charts so you can track your progress and set achievable goals. You can earn badges and connect with friends to share and compete and motivate yourself further.

Flex is also water resistant, so it can go out in the rain without risking damage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Band and fastener terrible I bought the flex a couple of months ago and really liked it. Mindful of the reviews saying the wrist bands can split I even bought a pack of extra bands. These are now useless as the band fell off my wrist and the flitbit was lost, probably on the train to work. I didn't notice immediately because I was wearing sleeves. The fastener on the bands is not secure. What a waste of money. 18 August 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for that motivation you're looking for! I treated myself to this with some work vouchers as I start a new venture. it doesn't leave my side any more. Having left an office job I knew I was already pretty inactive and so wanted to do something about it. I love that I can monitor my daily steps, weight, calories (if I really want to) and event sleep. It's also great to be in challenges with friends to spice things up a bit I can't recommend this enough. My only tiny criticism is I can't add my HIIT exercise classes which I do regularly so I have to find an alternative entry 23 June 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great product but not reliable I really like the Fitbit and the app. It also links to my health insurance for discount points, so I have used it every day and found it did make me do more exercise. However the strap split after two months and after six months it stopped charging. My wife also has one and this has stopped syncing. Fitbit were slow to respond initially (it says 2 days on their site but it took 4), but once on the case they resolved the issue quickly and have arranged a replacement, hopefully this will be more reliable as we have both really missed having them working. 05 June 2015

No problems with strap so far. Involved in at least one challenge a week with friends and colleagues. Would highly recommend 03 June 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Problem Strap I bought the Fitbit in March and have had it for just over two months. I'm really pleased with the device but the strap is rubbish. My Fitbit has a long battery life, syncs well with my iPhone and the MyFitness Pal app. The exercise tracker is excellent - very accurate. But the strap has started to split. You have to remove the device from the strap to charge it and this is what has caused the splitting. Considering I get good battery life and have had the occasional week off from using it, it hasn't lasted very long at all. You get two straps - large and small but the small one is too tight for me so I can't use it. 27 May 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Lovely Idea shame it isn't quite right I was given one of these for my birthday last December. By February I had to return it as it wouldn't sync properly or charge. The wiring in the cable had broken. J Lewis kindly replaced it as the company who make it were useless and make it very difficult to return it - they don't know what customer service is. Now in May my second new one is causing problems as the plastic strap has split and it will need replacing yet again. The catch is a cause of concern as mine does come off my wrist without warning but thankfully I haven't lost it. From a fitness point of view it is very good and I really wish they would sort out the problems with it, develop one that will actually last and is fit for purpose. Lovely software shame the hardware isn't up to standard. Expensive for what it is as it has too many problems for me to consider buying another one. 08 May 2015
