Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity and Sleep Tracking Wristband, Pink

Product information

Fitbit Flex is the ideal way to track your activity without imposing on your lifestyle. Just strap it to your wrist and leave it there, through day and night and then sync it with your smartphone or computer to see how active you are.

Flex tracks a number of activites to help you evaluate your lifestyle:

  • Steps taken
  • Distance travelled
  • Calories burned
  • Active minutes
  • Hours slept
  • Quality of sleep

Flex measures your sleep and will tell you how long you slept and how many times you woke up, giving you a sleep quality score. Flex can also wake you up in the morning with a silent alarm that won't bother your partner.

You can use the app so set personal goals and then track them as you go by looking at the LED lights on the wristband. You can also sync your stats in real time to see a more in depth breakdown on select iPhones, Android devices and computers.

As well as tracking your activity and allowing you to set goals, the app will also allow you to log food, workouts and more. Fitbit will arrange the data in easy to follow graphs and charts so you can track your progress and set achievable goals. You can earn badges and connect with friends to share and compete and motivate yourself further.

Flex is also water resistant, so it can go out in the rain without risking damage.

The Fitbit app is currently confirmed to work with the following devices:
iPhone: 4S, 5
iPod Touch: 5th generation
iPad: 3rd generation, Retina Display, mini
Samsung Galaxy: S4, SIII, Note II, Note 10.1

Q & As

Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity and Sleep Tracking Wristband 3.5 5 33 33
Fitbit Flex It's great... Easy to wear, easy to use and a very good motivator 20 August 2014
Brilliant! I love this tracker. It has so much going for it that I can't do anything else but recommend it. Fitbit have also nailed it with the accompanying smartphone app and website. The Flex itself is subtle, secure and swimproof. I also love the fact I can take the sensor (it's tiny!) out of the wristband and pop it in my pocket if I want - something I do at work. It accurately records steps (I've tested it against a number of different step trackers) and is a brilliant sleep tracker. If you forget to activate the sleep mode (or fall asleep beforehand), just go to the app or website and add the time period of your sleep; Fitbit calculates your sleep pattern anyway based on your movement. The battery life is good (I get around 5-6 days out of it) and the three-or-so-hours charging time doesn't really impact on recording your activity. I would probably prefer a longer time between charges, but I'm just being picky. The accompanying website is fabulous and allows you to connect to numerous other services to sync activity and calorie data. The smartphone app (I have the iOS version) is just brilliant. If you don't have a Flex, this app is a really good indicator of how the Flex works and how FitBit records your activity. If you have an iPhone 5S with the M7 chip, then it will also track your steps accurately. It's free to use (and it's free to have an account with Fitbit), so if you're thinking of buying a Flex then download the app. Some of the functions are missing, but it's a great advert for Fitbit and their trackers. the latest update even allows you to record runs and walks. The app links with the Flex by Bluetooth Low Energy. Saying that, you don't need to have the Bluetooth switched on all the time, just switch it on to sync your data. the Flex also comes with a USB dongle to wireless connect every 15 minutes if you are within range. So what don't I like about the Flex? Nothing. 19 August 2014
Disappointing in some respects... The good thing about this product is that it is motivational and the analysis that comes from Fitbit after I have 'synced' using the supplied dongle and my computer is interesting although the criteria for, e.g., the 'Very Active Minutes', is not clear. I think that it is inaccurate to say that this device is an 'activity monitor' - cycling seven miles on my static exercise bike scarcely registers so the flex is really just a step counter. The wristband is really bad as after a few weeks of use it is showing signs of splitting. I am going to order a replacement but not a Fitbit one, partly because of the high price and partly because of its unsatisfactory nature. #Amazon sell much cheaper alternatives which get decent reviews.# The Flex came with two wristbands but the second is not useable by an adult - I have very small wrists for a man. I also have a Digi-Walker pedometer #obtainable for a very reasonable price# which was supplied to me as part of a research project I am participating in which gives broadly similar results to the Fitbit but both devices for reasons I don't understand give anomalous results on odd days. #The Digi-Walker doesn't link to a computer to give analysis of the results.# 11 August 2014
Great integration with phone and apps I did a lot of research into fitness bands before settling for the Fitbit - mainly because it works with my phone (Galaxy S4) and can connect to some of the apps I use to monitor fitness and food (MapMyRun and My Fitness Pal). These things work together to bring me a large amount of data that I can then analyze to work out my performance during the day and over a whole week. However, for anyone that has a non-compatible phone or perhaps doesn't use these (or similar) apps, the data may be less interesting. I have found the Fitbit very easy to set up and use, very motivating in terms of helping me reach my goals and even the dashboard is very attractive to look at! Overall this has been a great buy and I would recommend it. 05 August 2014
Broken strap I have really enjoyed using the Fitbit for the last 4 weeks. Unfortunately, just as described by other reviewers, the strap has just split in two. It's clearly a major fault in the design and manufacturing. Sadly, this product is a huge waste of money. 31 July 2014
Excellent motivation for getting out there A really useful aid to getting motivated to go out and run/walk. weekly updates are sent to your phone to indicate performance. Initially difficult to set up. 30 July 2014
Problems with the Battery I bought this Fitbit Flex after carefully researching the Activity Tracker market. It was close call between this product and the Garmin Vivofit alternative. I have had it for 2 weeks and I was initially very happy with it. The information it generated had helped to adjust my exercise regime for the better. It did exactly what I expected from an Activity Tracker. This all changed 3 days ago when I noticed the battery was flat. I charged it as required until it held a full charge (four lights on the display). Within a few hours the batter was flat again. This then became a reoccurring theme. The Fitbit battery now does not last for longer than 4-5 hours. I have consulted the Fitbit support site and done all the recommended actions (cancelled all alarms, reset the device and stopped the direct sync with my IPhone). None of this has helped. The batter is rubbish and apparently this is a common problem. Just a quick Google search will show you how many other people have had this problem - the forums are full of people talking about various fitbit battery problems. Maybe there is a faulty batch doing the rounds. I am now very upset by this purchase. I have thrown away all packaging and the receipt and now no longer know what to do with a product that promised so much but ultimately is useless. I should have gone with the Garmin. 26 July 2014
Interesting Product - Poor Quality I found using the Fitbit very interesting and enjoyed analysing my activity together with lots of additional information. Unfortunately after 6 weeks use the Fitbit completely stopped working and the bracelet fell to pieces. John Lewis very quickly arranged for a replacement to be sent the next day, but I wonder how long this will last? 25 July 2014
